Uh- what? The four most critically acclaimed comic movies of all time (TDK, Spiderman 2 and The Avengers and Superman 2) aren't faithful to the comic book storylines at all.
What? Batman Begins and TDK gave Batman that realist dark vibe some of the best Batman comics have always had. For the first time they had Joker being a real psycho like he's supposed to be.
Spiderman 2 was the most faithful to comics of all 3 Spiderman movies. Everything going wrong for him, being Spiderman ruining his job, love life, schooling. Being poor e.t.c.
Avengers was also spot on. The tension between the characters. Loki bringing them all together.
If your mean exact comic book storylines, then no, they wern't used. But if you compare to movies like Fantastic Four, Ang Lee's Hulk and Spiderman 3, then yes those movies you mentioned follow the comics in their origins and vibe much more closely than the rubbish ones I just mentioned.

Lol I don't hate the new Spiderman movie! I'm really looking forward to it. I don't know why you can't understand I just don't like that one thing. Him being unmasked for the 4th damn movie in a row.
Something that never happened in the comics until a lot later on, but they've just completely killed that idea on the big screen.

I can see you guys wouldn't care. But fact is it wouldn't be true to the comics, in which his path was a lonely one for a long time.Where being Spiderman messes everything up for him including his love life. It's what made the comics so great.
On top of that they should stop repeating the same theme they have done for the last 3 movies now.
And Batman's completely different.
And btw I never once said the movie doesn't look good, or that I'l hate it for that one reason.
exactly.some of these nuts dont get that. They must have never read the comic and realised thats what made it so great was the fact he could not reveal his identity to anyone including his girlfriend and thats why his life was so messed up. people could relate to him because of that.I actually enjoyed sm 2 despite many of the ridulous thing that went throughout the movie but they totally ruined it at the end with MJ finding out his identity. 😠
damn straight, thats a poor example using Batman, thats comparing apples and oranges using alfred. 🙄 Gwen knwoing his identity is totally unnacceptable. 🙄 that would be like Aunt May knowing his identity or Commissioner Gordon knowing Bruce wayne is Batman. 🙄 these people obviously never read the comic.
like you said,it would be a betrayal to the comic. This is suppose to be the movie where they FINALLY get it right and have it loyal to the comic.they dont get it that we dont expect everything to follow the comic word for word.we dont care that Peter is meeting Gwen in high school instead of college or that he did that with mary jane as well in the first one, thats a minor acceptable change. But Gwen knowing his identity thats another stupid unacceptable change thats uncalled for.sheesh.

yeah thats not even funny bringing Batman Begins and The Dark Knight into this.Batman Begins redeemed those pathetic and pitiful previous four Batman movies before it.It was loyal to the comicbook for the most part.they didnt go and have the joker kill his parents betraying the comicbook.
They did it right this time having his real killer be Joe Chill just like in the comics, they showed what a true matrial artist he is how he can handle dozens of thugs at one time easily and did not make him into a wimp. Batman Begins was all about Batman and he wasnt the cowardly killer he was made into in the other Batman films and he was actually the main character. Not a supporting character to the Joker who had the majority of screetime.
Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are the only TRUE Batman movies that have been made so far that were loyal to the comicbook for the most part and did not rape to death the source material like Raimis movies did. This movie is suppose to do the same thing for spiderman what Batman Begins did for Batma but if Gwen knows his identity, they thats one more time they have betrayed the course material. 😠
again if she really does know peter is spiderman, then thats as unnacceptable as Commissioner Gordon knowing Bruce Wayne is Batman. Who cares if Alfred knows? that was written in the comics from the very beginning that he knew him. 🙄 so nobody cares if Alfred knows. 🙄
They DO care though if Commissioner Gordon found out.speaking of that I really loved that part where In The Dark Knight he crashed his car into Commissioner Gordons and Gordon thought he did that as a heroic act but to throw Gordon off that he was not Batman,he told him that he actually trying make the light and not miss it.something similair to that, cant remember his exact words but it was brilliant thinking on his part so Commissioner Gordon would not put one heoric act by Bruce Wayne together as an act of Batmans and then he said he better go to the hospital to check it out and Gordon says to him-You dont watch much television do you Mr Wayne? that was great. 😄

I completely agree about the whole unmasking thing, it shouldn't happen especially when in full view of people. It's been a gripe of mine for all the Batman movies too, hasn't stopped me enjoying some of them (Begins was good until the 'identity reveal'😉 but it nags at you all the same.
Parker has everything to lose if his identity is discovered. His whole daily life would be under scrutiny and attention, he'd be public enemy number one as both Parker and Spider-Man - too much to handle. Plus whats the point in making a suit that covers your face if you're going to take it off every bloody second? Spider-Man as a character doesn't need to 'emote' in front of people so it's purely a thing to please the actor and this makes the movie illogical in terms of the character motivation; for Parker and for the witnesses who see him but mysteriously keep quiet.
If the director/scriptwriter wants to create a universe where the secret is kept then thats what will happen, they are in control after all.
(Hopefully Karl Urban will keep his 'helmet promise' for Dredd)

Besides Gwen (most likely) knowing that Peter is Spider-Man, not sure what lead you to believe in the trailers that everyone knows. So he took his mask off in front of some kid, so? New York is a massive city and Peter is pretty average/plain looking.

Exactly.. Batman Begins, TDK and even Avengers didn't make such a messed up alteration like that. A key component of the story and character that made it work from day 1.
Funny thing is I love Spiderman and the movie looks really good and looks like it's getting a lot right that went wrong with Ramai's movies. So not sure why these guys are going nuts calling me a hater!!
But it's as a Spiderman fan and a movie fan that I'd hate him being unmasked for a 4th damn movie in a row! And killing to death an idea that was rarely done in the comics and had a huge impact on the quality of those comics and stories.
I mean for God's sakes even the cartoons got that right. Why's it so much to ask for them to get it right for at least 1 movie!

There are many scenes in the trailer I believe where he is without the mask so it's entirely possible he could be identified by other people aside from the kid. Plain looking or no, if you see someone sticking to the wall or any other such surface you're going to remember it, even get some proof with camera phones or you could have a trick memory. That blows his whole mission somewhat I think if people 'out' him.
I accept they may not put him maskless in situations where there is a lot of people or when he's iconically fighting the Lizard but just those scenes where he's unmasked kinda takes me out of him being Spider-Man.
I just don't like it in general for characters who wear masks and story elements keep requiring them to be removed all the time. If they want to star in CBM's they should want to do the character how it should be, whether they are secretive like Parker and Wayne or whether it really doesn't matter so much like Captain America or the Fantastic Four.

I know, sure is strange that they dont get that. 🙄 yeah doesnt make sense that with everything they seem to be doing right this time that it appears they STILL cant get that part right of nobody except Green Goblin should know his identity.
Sheesh, these nuts would probably call you a Batman hater if in the next Batman movie coming out,Commissioner Gordon found out his identity and you talked about how much you hated it that they did that in that movie. 🙄

Well that's good news and if it's getting good feedback all the better - the only thing I'm concerned with is the lack of publicity for it but I'm definitely going to see it that's for sure.

And Spiderman's actually Marvel's Avatar character. He's always been the most famous and popular Marvel character.
When I say those days are long gone, I mean in the movies, and like you said the old 90's animation was pretty good.
Now we've got the Ultimate screw up cartoon.
Yeah for the movies those good old days seem to be gone forever.Im afraid as long as sonys name is attached this this were going to keep seeing things that betray the comicbook.I hope they at least dont have Gwen know pete since grade school.Man when they did that in sm 1 from 2002 with mary jane i was like wtf????? 😠 yeah like you said he is the most famous marvel character and has always been the avatar for the other marvel comicbook characters.the thing i cant understand is why Stan doesnt have a lawsuit against sony going like he should be doing. 😠
