Denton Van Zan (Reign of Fire) vs. John McClane

We didn't see any evidence.
He could have been bullshitting.
And even if "He" had killed a dragon before, it would have been with loads helping him and probably dying to allow himself the opportunity, and he'd have used weapons and vehicles, going by screenfeats.

Quinn thought it possible.. he knew more about the dragons than Van Zan.

Zan took it out. We know he took out more. No one else thought it was even possible to take out dragons until Zan stormed onto the scene. They worshipped him and he scoffed at them for it, Sal.

deliberately spamming the same lies

stupid clown

Lulz, Van Zan wouldn't have even killed that dragon if Quinn didn't nearly sacrifice his life to lure it to him.

Yeah Van Zan is shit.

So perhaps his death was symbolism? A metaphorical piece of shit gets converted into a literal one. Van Zan is the Pinocchio of feces.

Exactly. 😉

i think the intended allusion was something akin to ahab's death scene in moby dick. a hateful, irrational and suicidal attack which even he knew would be completely ineffective but did so anyway out of pure unfathomable hatred.

(see 5:25)

YouTube video

:edit: this is also part of the commonly used theme of cinematic self destruction and ultimate madness which quan likes to call "being a badass" as he tries to pass it off as a valid feat.

smdh.. 102 pages

Yeah thats Quan's score on the stupid-levels-of-stubbornness-and-willful-ignoranceometer.

I agree

imho, van zan would chip her. 🙂

I wonder how van zan would do up against wimplow from kung pow? I mean wimp was trained to lose.

Nah. Van Zan would find every way for wimp lo to beat him and if that failed, would just start banging his head on ground until he killed himself and thus forfeit.

If Quanchi wants to wank over a Matthew McConaughey character, why doesn't he use Dirk Pitt from Sahara? At least it's a military-trained badass with certified competence and knowledge, rather than a punk bytch who got himself killed because he was a retard for not following his own strategy.

Twas the name of the lead character in the film of 'Raise the Titanic' too.

no sexy tattoos, no artificial slouching/puffing of pectoral muscles, no infinite butthurt suicidal rage, no grunting/telegraphing jock fighting style...

...no feeding of (and/or promoting the economy of) the enemy..
..no more failures to beat up opponents.. gained ability to protect people, instead of guaranteeing their deaths, and less overall detestability onscreen.

So you're saying the film wanted to portray him as a liar/ineffective coward. You couldn't be any more ridiculous.

He did kill one on the screen, sissiko.

He flips and he flops.
