Denton Van Zan (Reign of Fire) vs. John McClane

Except he didn't.

McClanes pwn all.

Zan, even in one film in which he died, outperformed everything McClane ever did in any of his films. He only died because he took on a threat McClane couldn't take on in a million years. McClane has to take on helicopters from the safety of a tunnel, and dragons pwn helicopters.

how does rendering one's self as little more than a flying dragon-treat equate to him "taking on a threat". that would be like mcclane fighting the terrorists by shooting himself in the head.

You say that like McClane can take on dragons

you act like van zan could

You say that like McClane couldn't easily fire a harpoon after a bunch of other people risked and paid for with their lives to get the dragon right into the harpoon-gun's sights.

hey, it took a burley and manly index finger to pull that trigger and i doubt mcclain had the digits to pull off that feat of strength.

"easily"? 😆 Bullshit. You need utterly perfect coordination to tag a beast fast enough to WTFpwn helicopters out of nowhere. McClane couldn't harpoon that dragon. He'd get eaten by one of the dragons, less lone the Alpha Male that killed Zan.

You should watch the scene again. Quinn on horseback lead the dragon over the small crest and directly into the gun's sights. Van Zan did minimal aiming, his sole skill there was pulling a trigger and jumping away.

Quinn was the hero in the scene.

oh ffs.

the dragon was heading directly toward him. stevie wonder could have hit it. it was quinn who deserved the credit since he was the one being chased.

:edit: stupid robtard

Well I've already stated that Quinn is an utter badass who blows McClane out of the water, so the fact that he withstood Zan's beating is a credit to Quinn rather than any weakness of Zan's. McClane is a lesser undeniably incompetent combatant and will be pwned by Zan easily.

We both stated the obvious. High-Five.

So when proved wrong in a claim, rant in another direction. Got it.

What's happened since your last "Quinn was a malnourished man" stance?

we'll just take that as a retraction of your moot point regarding van sham's aiming abilities.

So Van wins because's he's clearly a better combatant than McClane. McClane won't touch him. even if Van has to cave in his face with a million punches. McClane won't be able to stop him, because he's horribly incompetent in H2H, proved by the fact that he hasn't won a H2H fight in any of his films yet (besides maybe the new one, which I have yet to see). McClane loses /thread

Van Zan's some uber combatant who can't be hit now. Interesting.

This is the rebuttal to that claim, which is also oddly on topic considering where Van Zan ended:

So no counter-argument then? Just Mcbutthurt trolling? Okay, Zan's win is secured 🙂

The counter argument is the film Reign of Fire and that schoolyard-like fight where Van Zan didn't illustrate these amazing H2H skills you claim he possesses.

Or as sensible and not upset 2011/12 Lestov16 put it:

Anyway, based on what we've seen, Van Zan, with five punches and a headbutt, couldn't even put down a malnourished dude (malnourished guy vigorous enough to be needed to be held back by 3 people). He's definitely not taking down McClane.

😂

haha and its "exit, stage right"

Back then, I was deluded into thinking McClane had better H2H skills than he did. I'm not that stupid now. McClane sucks in H2H and gets his ass beat here.
