Now, now. Exy looked like he was gushing energy, not leaking.

In that very same issue, when IW used her shields to bust through his armor, he didn't leak anything :

You must have missed the scan where energy IS SHOOTING OUT OF EXITAR

I'm not sure how the artist would have showed Exitar bleeding energy without covering up Sue though...

You just dont understand, man.

He was exploding. As we've seen in both the Thor and FF example. They don't bleed energy when they are punctured (when Thor punched a hole in Exitar's armor or when Sue punched a hole in his armor).

What was that last thing that Sue hit with her forcefield. The big red thing that got smashed and um leaking energy?

A Celestial got its hand cut off
A Celestial got pieces of its face hit off
Thor threw the Odin Sword through Arishem

Thor 388 (I believe):
Thor hammered through Exitar's head
Thor Godblast destroyed a piece of Exitar that was harder than his shell

X-Factor 50:
Phoenix blew off Arishem's hand forcing it to retreat

They weren't perfect even before then. They just fought a lot of weaker people (and the infamous Skyfather scene).

In Thor 300, didn't the Celestials regenerate right away? It seemed like they weren't really phased at all.

And in Thor 388, I seem to remember Thor feeling humbled himself subsequent to using his godblast, as he was hoping it would do a lot more. Exitar barely acknowledged the attack. I forget the words DeFalco used exactly, but he said it was akin to something like a mild annoyance.

Never read that particular issue of XFactor 50. Will check it out.

So Galactus > Celestials > multiple IG users? 😕

One thing to remember is that IG's do not function outside of their native realities. The point was stated explicitly in the first story arc dealing with the council of Reeds. Theyre effectively powerless outside of their realities.

Nah, he was right.

Alternate IG's only work within their respective universes, apparently:

😄 👆

Heres another that makes the same point-

Infinity Gauntlets are universal scale matter/energy manipulators that only function in their native realities.

We saw this in the avengers JLA crossover to 🙂

It was just a shard of phoenix-force, jean channeled it through scott's Optic blast and blew arishem's hand off IIRC.

Alternate IG's.. 616 IG has shown to work outside the 616 universe.

Nope, That is the current status for the IG. The of Reeds survey the multiverse and the story arc established that IG's do not work outside of their realities as per current continuity.

The ruling on the matter immediately before was in the JLA Vs Avengers crossover where the IG didnt work in the DC multiverse and the event is referenced in handbooks as canon.

So current continuity states that the IG is tied to its native reality.

Sr J-Bieb, in all seriousness :

Thor 300 -
a) Destroyer cuts off Nezzar's arm, no energy bleeding. Arm reforms.
b) Thor hurls Odinsword through Arishem (allowed to enter him by the way), no energy bleeding.

Thor 387-389 -
a) Thor punches hole in Exitar's armor, no energy bleeding.
b) Thor breaks Exitar's skull, no energy bleeding.

X-Factor 50 -
a) The PF portion blows off Arishem's hand, hand smolders, but no energy bleeding.

Fantastic Four (don't remember the issue number)
a) Sue busts through Exitar's shell with her force field, no energy bleeding.
b) Sue destroys Exitar's nerve center, he explodes.
