Galactus vs The Celestials...

Personally, I think both Galactus and Franklin both perish if they didn't cooperate, just like in those other alternate time loops.

I was curious how people on other forums perceived the events in question. Here's part of a review from someone on comicbook-resources.

"Galactus staggers under the assault and Franklin heads for one final push in a conflagration that lights up the entire hemisphere for a moment before it fades, witnessed by the Avengers in Manhattan, the Future Foundation in the Baxter Building (though that panel may be more symbolic with two characters physically out of place), Ronan and Crystal, and sensed by the Light Brigade, and Kristoff mourning Doom. With bated breath, the Fantastic Four see first Galactus standing, and in his palms, Franklin. Victorious."
This is pretty much how I personally saw it.

Someone else on yet another forum suggested that the orb Adult Franklin used to bring back Galactus was actually the pocket universe Young Franklin created earlier on in the series; and that it was used to provide sustenance for the unfed Galactus. Not sure what to make of that one, but it's a pretty cool/interesting take on the story nonetheless.

I think this entire event was one of Doom's dreams.

There wasn't enough Doom in this event for it to be one of Doom's dreams...

...I AM convinced that he built the mad Celestial's, though.

that would mean 616 Doom>>>>the ENTIRE council of reeds. interesting.

I also find it interesting in that according to the art, and in one of the iterations of time, 616 Reed is gunned down by Arishem and Nezzar the Calculator rather than these particular Mad Celestials.

I was being sarcastic, btw.

Impressive showing for all parties involved and in the end my opinion was right.

Galactus wins.

Celestials

Kobe>Lin

Lakers>Knicks

😄

How u been buddy 🙂

Out of interest, didn't the recent BRB mini establish that if Galactus was killed, there'd by a 3 lightyear wide explosion or something?

I vaguely remember Surfer saying something liek that to Bill...

it did. I doubt hickman incorporated that into his plot, despite hickman being one of the few writers (if not the ONLY writer) that likes to take plot details from other stories (and other writers) and weave them into his own. Besides it was never explicitly stated Galactus was killed by the Combined Celestials. He's certainly looked worse than that before but wasn't dead. Without some expansion by hickman in FF or in the next issue of F4, there's really nothing to confirm he's anything more than KO'd.

Killed in what way? Galactus is a mega galaxy walking bomb?

How is that interesting?

Man, just saw the preview of FF 16.

Its pretty obvious that Franklin made the Big G his herald.

Oh good God! This is what you are referring to isn't it?

WTF is Marvel doing?! ranting

I'm about to shit myself.

As said before (multiple times) hold your horses and wait for the actual comic before jumping to conclusions based on previews.

Beats me.

Even young Franklin wished he had a Galactus.

Marvel seems to have done a major re-shuffle in their comics department. 😘

I wouldn't get too upset *yet*. The 3 page teasers they give you can be quite deceptive. For instance: before Fantastic Four #604 was released, people thought Franklin popped in and killed the mad Celestials with a literal blink, based solely on the preview pages they saw beforehand.

Next week we'll know for sure what's going on.
