The Dark Knight Rises

They could have done it with knives 😐

I take more issue with the fact that they went in super armed and they didn't have any weapons at the end.

Did Bane's guys take them?

If so I'm sure they would have stashed some away somewhere.

Oh, lord. When I saw that this thread was getting lots of wordy discussion I thought maybe there were some interesting themes to discuss from the film, but nope: it's just people harping on silly things like "how did they shave while under the rubble?"

ugh3 Clearly the movie wasn't very effective if that's all people want to get out of it.

I enjoyed the film, but it's not my favorite of the series at all. I still like Begins the best. The psychological warfare with Scarecrow was a bit more original to me than a nuclear bomb and a doomsday clock. Been there, done that many times. But it was a pretty fun film. Bane's voice was kind of funny to me... he has a distinguished accent underneath his respirator/mask thing... haha. And yeah, there were several occasions where he should have been subtitled. And I thought he was a bit more scary as a long entity than some little trouble maker friend of the Tate (taint? lol) woman.. that sort of diminished his intimidation factor. He became a cute little puppy after that.

Agreed. It was retarded. Good plot twist but...stupid because it killed all the "bad ass mother ****er" aura the movie built around Bane.

Agreed.

After watching a couple of other takes on the TDKR I think I realize why it just kind didn't compare.

Spoiler:
They decided to not mention the Joker and they tried to make Batman more interesting than anybody else.

Now I understand they chose not to include the Joker out of respect for Heath and they wanted to make it a Batman story and not a Gotham city story.

Still I think they were both the wrong decisions based on how the movies had progressed before than.

I think trying to make Batman be the most interesting character hurt the story. In Begins it was different. We were watching Batman become Batman which is a very interesting story, and is also the reason why I think it will be the best Batman story out of the trilogy.

Here though we watching brand new exciting things happen. Things we wanted to see played out but we couldn't. It's also the reason why we got two very anti-climatic villain deaths.

We also had great supporting character arcs that got pushed to second place.

Also I think it was a big mistake not to include the references to the Joker. It imo cheapened Heath's performance to meaning nothing in the third movie. The Joker arc should have carried much weight than what we got shown. Yeah a kind of indirect thing with Harvey Dent happened but nothing strong.

We all know the themes for each movie. Fear, Chaos, Pain. I think the intention of these movies was for Begins to be about Batman becoming Batman, TDK was the reaction to Batman, I think TDKR was supposed to be the Judgement of the Batman to see if he did more good or evil. At least that's how I felt it should have been.

To me TDK story arc wasn't complete and it was meant to be completed in the third movie. I think Gotham should have been more war torn, cynical. The idea being that while things have gotten better what was the cost and is what was built really worth it or lasting. I think the characters they introduced for this movie were set up perfectly to show that premise especially at the beginning scene when Gordon was giving his speech.

To me Bane was supposed to be the Judge of Gotham. He was supposed to come in and see if the Batman had really done the good he was supposed to have done, and could it be broken easily.

I think there was some brilliant scenes depicting this. Alfred asking Bruce if he could have done better by donating his time and resources to the Gotham Police. Or when Bane broke down everything Batman had built himself up to be.

In fact I think the best scenes in the movie take place in the middle section because to me this is where they stuck with that core idea the other movies had been building to. The beginning was weak because they didn't focus on the effects the Joker had and the ending was weak because they made it to Batman centered. I think those parts are where most of the plotholes come in.

They had some great performances and arcs going this movie. I can tell where they wanted to go with the Catwoman arc, the Bane arc, Alfred, the Robin arc, Gordan but since they made it all about Batman these things got pushed to the back end. Which cheapened the characters.

As for Talia I liked the twist in that it was a link to Batman's past and what some could consider his sins. By not saving Ras ah Gul he traded in one devil he knew for one he didn't. I just think it should have been revealed earlier so as to not cheapen Bane's character. I also think that while Bane and Talia should have been linked it shouldn't have been as closely as it was. I think once again that was a by product of trying to focus too much on Batman so they had to do something.

It's still a good movie with some great performances and and some great scenes, but I think it veered off from what it had been building to and it shows.

These are my opinions but I think there are quite a few other people who would agree with me.

who said wayne needed money to get back?

How else would he get back? He was in the middle of the ****ing desert.

Steal a car, drive to an airport and hide in the cargo of plane to America, then more planes or whatever until he can get to Gotham.

if he really was in the middle of the f*cking desert, then money really wouldn't matter, would it?

You could at least pay someone to transport you.

Absolutely, because they don't check cargo compartments on planes in a post 9/11 world. 👆

It was just silly. There's no way he could have traveled that distance under his own power.

That isn't one of the real bothersome things about the movie to me, though. I just kind of "it's a movie'd" that away.

He did that alot in Batman Begins though. That's why it didn't bother me that much. In BB, he was constantly traveling with criminals and staying close to the Wayne Enterprise crates and shit.

Even if they did, he's ****ing Batman. He is literally a trained ninja. Do you think some crappy airport security guards could sniff him out?

Pretty sure they had guns.

Bruce Wayne after all is a ninja so he will possess the ability to hide and stay in shadows all the while getting on a plane and going back to Gotham City

Well, if he tried the landing gear, he'd get crushed:

If he tries any place without heated air (depends on the plane but it would be a lengthy flight and he could die, depending on the plane and cargo hold area in which he flies), he will freeze to death:

The real problem is getting to an airport that has a flight that connects to the US, at all, with no money.

Whatever country he's in I'm sure there's someone who owes Bruce Wayne a favor.

Oh yeah and like others have pointed out he's a frigging Ninja!

Between Batman's ninja skills and Bruce Wayne's fame there's not many places in the world he couldn't get away from, even without money.

(Oh and if nothing else, I'm sure in the circumstances he could steal money of someone, get their details, then pay them back later with interest.)

So stop trying to make plot holes where they don't exist.
