USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (DARK SIDE)- Enemy

Started by Ushgarak227 pages

Sorry for the delay! Also sorry that some of the numbers got lost0 I obviously didn't cut/paste the latest version when I saved that turn when waiting for actions. Both Hacker and Flamer were hit.

2-4 is their initiative.

Big Gun opens up on Xavier now with 10K bolts in, as that works well against Balanced Guard. He gets in two hits. However the second hit lands bang-on Xavier's Riposte number! That didn't work out well for him.

Sniper and Jetpack are blazing away at Con, with Jetpack tapping his Eagle Eye into it for a huge hit. A well-timed Evade from Rand avoids trouble from Hacker.

But your attacks go well in turn, with Dak's change of target bring in damage on Sniper and Xavier winning a slog-fest with the big man.

Xavier will tap RI this turn and try to finish off Big Gun this turn.

Hacker's damage still looks off...

Rand is going to help Gallador this turn. Tap Dodge & Weave as Rand performs a Fling on the Flamer, hurling him down the path a ways to spare Gallador from the flames.

And if that goes off well, Gallador should keep at him.

Gallador will do so.

It is a bit ridiculous that schticks do not work here, though.

It's because he's using a Heavy Weapon. That depends on an Agility roll to not get hit. The Area Effect means that you are jumping out of the way, not defending against it like you would a blaster rifle (like everyone else you're fighting).

Kill 'em, guys!

Dak will attack Sniper again!

That's the special ability of the Flamethrower Device. It's considerably less ridiculous than using a Force power to do 24 damage in one go, and as a straight offensive benefit it gives him less than just having Forward Guard in would for you guys (he gets three more dice than normal for ignoring your Guard, whilst Forward Guard gives you five). It also has a limited ammo capacity. Admittedly it shuts down taps as well but it doesn't work against defensive Force powers and it is short-ranged. The Big Gun is much more dangerous against named characters, though bad guys get much better use out of it because its main limitations are social (it's too big and offensive to carry around casually and you can't sneak with it anywhere).

Schtick defences generally work fine against Heavy Weapons. The Agility roll is actually an extra defence against them as they are not great weapons for taking out heroes. The Flamethrower Device first on Guns, though.

All in all... lightsabres are still better.

Yup, sorry, Hacker was on 28, not 18.

5-3 brings initiative to you, which is good timing. Rand gets a 10 damage Fling in on Flamer, knocking him down enough for Gallador to match it.

Xavier is certainly going aggressive with a straight eight success roll for 14 damage. He's having a good fight, it must be said. Dak's mere 13 on Sniper has a bigger effect, though, as Big Gun is a Big Guy. Con has an easy strike for the kill, impaling Sniper against the rock face.

Xavier's luck hits him two ways- Big Gun does not roll a Riposte multiple (which means you don't have to tap it as Riposte can be tapped after the fact), but his 10K bolts play hits the probability curve this turn as he misses his first shot and hence blows it.

However, Jetpack and Hacker are still blazing away for noticeable effect, and Staffy gets a new Stun in on Dak,

We'll feed his head to the animals Xavier, that will teach him

"I'm sure it will," Xavier pauses and adds, "Gentleman we need to make sure we keep on these guys alive."

I'm thinking Hacker might be our man.

Xavier will once again attack Big Gun, and once again tap RI this turn. 😄

This is going well. Was Dodge & Weave tapped?

Rand is going to take a swipe at Hacker, testing his defenses as before and slashing or thrusting when finds an opening. Focus is on Hacker, of course.

Since Sniper is gone, Dak and Con should gang up on Staffy, or one of them should engage him (probably Con, since he has a higher Defense that works against Staffy) and the other should go help Gallador.

Con should keep Staffy busy. Dak will change his attention to Flamer, flipping over to attack him.

Con will do that. I think I'll swap in Charge (for ES) and tap it, to get the extra dice on Staffy. Should I also use Flurry or might that be a waste if he taps something?

You have 7F so you could probably get away with it 😛

But you probably don't need it imo.

Damn Xavier. Why didn't you fight this well in the vision? You got Azarl killed in an alternate timeline...

It's weird watching us work together.

Gallador will continue hacking the Flamer to pieces.

6-4; initiative to you!

Rand- yes it was tapped, sorry,, but Hacker is using Eagle Eye.

Xavier lays into Big Gun... and this time his Riposte pays off. The tap comes in and with a lightning-fast reaction to Big Gun's attempt to shoot Xavier in the face, Xavier's blade comes up and slices both gun and man in half.

Dak runs over to help Gallador and may well have got a killing blow in if his pool was not knackered by Stun. However, a desperate Flamer attacks Dak instead of Gallador this round.

Con, meanwhile, intercepts Staffy with a 13 damage attack that gives him something to think about. Staffy hits back but does not pull off the Stun this time.

And Hacker stuffs up his attack this time as Rand's Focussed Guard does its job!

Jetpack is now firing at Xavier.

If we all survive this fight, I'll be quite pleased.

Swap out DW.

Rand takes another jab at Hacker, trying to hammer enough blows on one of his shields to overwork it.

Flamer should be down this turn, meaning Dak and Xavier can pick targets. Join up against Staffy and Hacker and this fight will be over shortly.

Rianna's grumbling about how this is a fight she should be in...instead of having to waste time with the droidekas earlier...

I guess you should have all not death charged the firing squad!
