Probably I just think it is a cool idea!!!!
So the problem is they need to get one floor up which might take some time which will give our wall-walker time to get there and she will able to run them down pretty quickly?
So we either need to get them up faster or keep from getting into the shaft?
They're a little too banged up to engage plus she can easily keep them at a distance?
What about setting up an ambush where you guys jump once she enters the shaft and before she can get out of your range?
Meanwhile outside- nothing fancy here; we're just going to see where the numbers go. Your effective manoeuvrability is halved against atmospheric fighters in atmosphere, so even though these rather stock quality atmospheric fighters are only 5/5/1 with a Pilot pool of 5, they are getting an extra die against Azarl and three extra dice against Xavier and Galder.
Plus the guns are still firing at you! Not quite as dangerous now you are not making runs straight at them, but that's still three extra dice per turn on each of you.
The fighters will attack each of you evenly. You only need two successes for a shootdown, but your piloting pools are not massive...
CASINO FIGHTER ENGAGEMENT
The New Beginning: 161 P: 6
Paladin: 39 P: 7
Spearhead: 34 P: 6
Atmospheric Fighters: 5/5/1
I'm wondering if we can somehow call the elevator, or if that would only be slower than my own efforts to climb up. Jumping and climbing for Rand will result him in staying in last place, and I don't have any sort of grappling equipment to speed that up.
Could I use Lifting to collapse the lift shaft at all, to prevent Katai from even getting in? At least temporarily.
I don't think I can count on Relle to drop back down and carry me, ha ha ha.
Yikes. How many fighters are we talking, here?
And just to be sure, Galder has a Pilot pool of 8 in his ship thanks to Favorite Ride.
"Bring them down!" Galder shouts to Xavier and Azarl over the comms. "We should've gone after the Bureau cruiser first..."
Galder locks on to one of the fighters and takes it out with a flurry of lasers.
