What exactly would you say Stand Your Ground is? In many states there is an obligation to retreat in which case Zimmerman would be clearly in the wrong. Because Florida has a SYG law it does not legally matter if he provoked the confrontation.
I would agree. But the notion that the defense is trying to paint the picture that he is one, to me, is preposterous.
When Don West focused on Jeantel's statement of Martin saying "nigga" and "creepy ass cracker" I understood what he was attempting to do but at the same time I couldn't help but think "your reaching".
It's probably why West took so long with Jeantel.

afaik, stand your ground isn't actually a specific defense, rather, the colloquial name for a number of statutes that impact the way self-defense pleas are dealt with.
