Michael's power is infinite. So says God himself.

There are LEVELS of infinity, you realize this right? And Vertigo's "God" himself has superiors (he admitted this on panel) and at LEAST one peer : GEB.

GEB is the opposite of light. He existed before God, IIRC. Yin and yang.

See? So "God" saying Michael's power is infinite isn't that impressive.

Having the power of creation is. Owning Spectre and being second to God is. Michael is certainly top 3 or 4, so it is what it is.

Yeah but being 3 or 4 below a less than impressive "God" isn't saying much. That's the point I'm trying to convey.

Yeah, and Michael is STILL one of the most powerful characters in comics. That's what I'm saying.

Why is the god less than impressive?

A) He's admitted to having superiors
B) He has at least ONE peer : GEB
C) He was almost overthrown by Swamp Thing with Elemental Congress amp

There's probably more but that's enough for now.

Who are his superiors?
Having peers doesn't make him less powerful.
How does the swamp thing, thing, make him look bad?

A) I don't know who they are (notice it's multiple) he mentioned them to Lucifer. I forgot what issue it was from, but a forum member had posted the scan.

B) Yes, because it proves he's not the Supreme Being.

C) Because it shows he can be overthrown by his own creation if they play their cards right. Hence he's weaksauce.

a) I'll have to have a look
b) He's the supreme being of creation, though, and still as powerful as the name implies.
c) I don't see how making others powerful makes him weak.

It's not like anyone in this thread is going to replicate Swamp Thing's feat.

A) I'll look too. I couldn't believe it when I saw it myself.
B) No he's not. If he has a peer that he didn't create and is just as powerful as he is, by definite he can't be the Supreme Being
C) Because it shows that it's possible to overthrow him if you play your cards right.

b) He's the supreme being of creation. GEB is outside of creation. He's still "god", when it comes down to it.
c) Through a heavily convoluted system that's almost impossible to exploit. And he wasn't overthrown, iirc.

Either way, agree or not, how are these guys killing Michael?

He doesn't admit he's got superiors, he simply says "external forces shaped him"

Which could just as easily be an allusion to the writers as much as in story superiors...

That is pretty vague, tbh.

B) Hence he can't be the Supreme Being. He has a peer that's in competition with him. The fight ended in 'at best a stalemate'.

C) He wasn't but he could have been. Hence proving even in his own creation, he's not Supreme.

He's the supreme being when it comes to his own creation. GEB wasn't his creation.

Just because he gave them the power to potentiall overthrow him doesn't mean he couldn't take it away if he wanted to.

Like I said though, none of this is relevant, and we'd just be going back and forth. The question here is Michael 😛
