I got a big Interstellar vibe myself.Possibly just a coincidence, but I wouldn't be surprised if the trailer creator was specifically trying to play off the success of that film.
FF has always been about exploration, invention, and family. The trailer clearly showcases those first two points. Its up to the cast to deliver the last. That trailer almost sold me on the feel of the movie, since it seems to keep true to FFs core.
Then I remembered hacker terrorist nerd Doom and went right back to hating it with every fiber of my being. A comic book movie is almost always only as good as it's main villain. The success of this film hinges highly on their execution of Dr. Doom.
So far, that aspects looking pretty grim.

.

This.
I wanted them to be portrayed as Explorers, but didn't think Fox would do that in a Million years. So that's a nice surprise.

I was thinking it's possible that because this is Young Doom, it's just the beginning of his story, and he will become the Genius Dictator over the course of a Trilogy or something. Kind of like Charles and Eric in X-Men First Class.
Let's just hope they've got something good planned with him.
