STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Movement

Woops, I missed the part where there was no distress signal.

That's really odd. It makes it seem like Loj'oon was constantly observing the Shollis, how else would he know that they got hit? And make it there in time to help out as well...

Unless he has a mole or some sort of connection in the Tyr-sen. Which would isn't very probable. His resources don't seem to be that extensive.

Could a part of his operations be located on one of the moons near the Shollese? For him to act so fast in assisting them they have had to be close.

They did send a distress signal. The Shollese defense forces sent one out in hopes their neighboring worlds would assist.

You can narrow things down to the planets within range of the Shollese emergency broadcast. How else can you eliminate planets from the list?

They definitely aren't on any of the moons of Shollis. Those are populated and support bases for the local military.

Well, obviously it has to be a habitable planet, but one with either a non existent population or a very low one. The Seat would definitely cause a lot of attention. Especially them deploying fighter squadrons from that planet.

So it has to be a habitable planet that's not settled.

So let's check out the amount of planets in the range of the emergency beacon that can support life but have very low to none populations.

That sounds like a good plan, let's see what turns up.

Checking checking checking...

Hmm.

Most of the planets in this area, if habitable, support a small population. If not habitable, then, obviously, no population. Shollis, well-defended and supplied, actually supports a larger population than most planets in this area.

You need to narrow it down further. Uninhabitable worlds do not necessarily rule themselves out - they did steal a space station, after all.

Would a space station of that size show up on our scanners normally?

Keep in mind, ship scanners like those on the Free Flyer work pretty well, but if you want to scan the entire sector, you need a little more power.

I would want to look into uninhabitable worlds exclusively I think. Loj'oon doesn't want to be found so it would make sense to hide somewhere people literally can't live on.

Can we narrow the list down by using our force instincts?

Yeah, go Wentar!

Vlad is useless at those type of things.

Your force rating is only one point lower than mine. 😛

You're both better than Galder! Not that either of you have met him.

-

Remember, it isn't just a 'look at a list and pick a name.' When Vader pulls this trick in ESB, someone gives him one name - "Hoth" - and his intuition kicks in.

"That's it. The Rebels are there."

That being said, uninhabitable feels too extreme. You will need to suss why. Wentar is on the right track; Loj'oon wouldn't want people to see the space station and get the word out about his whereabouts.

Fair enough! Perhaps the reason I feel uninhabitable is wrong has to do with supplies. Maybe the need a habitable place where they can get basic resources like food and waters...

Actually, somewhat related idea just came to mine. these guys would be using loads of fuel right? With all their fighters and the Seat surely uses loads to keep in orbit. Can we look for any major refuelling depot in the area?

They certainly do need massive quantities of fuel! Being out on the fringes of civilized space, where individuals jetting about happens more frequently, you find a handful of worlds that possess major refuel stations.

Are there any near worlds that are uninhabited, yet can support life?

I strongly think that he'll be on an uninhabited world, one that can support life though. He'll need it for basic living needs, but he wouldn't be able to set up a space station on a world with any form of space faring settlements, it'd be spotted immediately.

A handful of worlds could match that description.

You can narrow down the planets with fuel depots further.

Perhaps see if any of the fuel depots have recently had any assistance against pirate raids too?

No raids to speak of! Considering what they offer, the planets with fuel depots keep up some sturdy defenses. Plus, pirates would expend lots of fuel stealing fuel; not very helpful.

If they're not raiding the fuel depots, then they're buying it, right?

And it has to be an extensive amount of fuel...

How about we find out which of the fuel depots had any massive orders?

Hehe, fair call. 😛

Can see if places have had any recent increases in business?

Would a space station require a different fuel type? Sort of like the space equivalent of diesel as opposed to unleaded.

That requires you to get access to each individual planets' records on fuel sales... that could take you forever...

However, Vlad is on the right track. They had to buy lots of fuel somewhere. If not to fuel a space station, then to at least fuel the ships that they just used at Shollis to dogfight pirates and steal freighters.
