But how many options you'll get in the Keep is the question now. I imagine you'll be more rewarded playing the last two games and porting the saves from those having Inquisition altered further or will the Keep really have everything?
They said hundreds, IIRC. Though I think that's optimistic, personally.

Even then the Captain america is atleast more low leaning then the shit going on now and to an extent in two. I don't actually mind, but I do get some people not liking the style shift seeing as most fantasy games are all high power spectacle to begin with nowadays.
I don't mind it being more "grounded"; that's actually one of the things that made me like dragon age so much in the first place.
I just don't think of the Warden as a truly average joe either.
to me, it doesn't play in to high or low fantasy as much as other aspects.

By comparison, Lord of the Rings magic is vastly more subtle than even Game of Throne's (discounting the Silmarillion, which is by design supposed to highlight what the World was like in its "golden age"😉, with the culmination of the Wizards' powers being pushing each other, lighting their staffs on fire and occasionally shooting a lightning bolt, yet Lord of the Rings is considered high fantasy.
Gandalf leveled the side of a mountain while man-fighting a balrog. Oh, and he also was manly enough physically to destroy the flaming sword wielded by the balrog with one clash. Oh, and the Endless Stair was also destroyed by their fight.
Galadriel obliterated Dol Guldur personally.
Compare to Melisandre, one of the more powerful mages in ASOIAF, who can... Light a bird on fire. Whoa. Oh and I guess she can spawn a shadow assassin with a deal of prep and the life force of another. Wow.
Even in the Third Age, fantastic shit is not as rare as in Game of Thrones, nor so weak, for the most part. It's probably not as widespread as Origins though.
So I'm not sure what metric you're using to classify Dragon Age as high fantasy. Especially not when you consider that the majority of mages are barely powerful enough to be a threat to your average soldier,
Which is why about twelve mages was considered a sufficiently impressive amount to send to Ostagar.
Mages were deliberately overpowered in gameplay, to fit with the story.
simply existing as a Mage gives you a 50/50 chance of spontaneously exploding and having your soul taken over by a demon,
Prove that figure.
and almost all of the mages in the world are actively oppressed on a daily basis by an organization of dudes armed with nothing but swords and shields,
And lyrium fueled magic.
who regularly drag mages of all ages into backrooms and lobotomize them for the lulz. That doesn't sound like a High Fantasy society to me.
Which is why Jowan with a single casting of Blood Magic cleaned out a room full of templars and the First Enchanter.
Origins was relatively higher fantasy. Higher than 2, at any rate.
You're right to point out that magic power is not the sole indicator of high fantasy, but what else does Origins have to offer? An epic scale for one. You travel the length and breadth of Fereldan several times on an epic quest to form an epic army (Composed of any number of fantastical cool guys, depending on choice) to fight an epic battle against a wholly, objectively destructive and evil force. Now, the morality is fairly grayish, not quite as cynical as GoT, but much less black and white than Tolkien-esque fantasy, so it has that going for it. This is not true of 2, which is far more contained in scale and even more gray in morality (Sort of, they ****ed some aspects of that up). Dragon Age is still fairly low fantasy, more-so than, say, The Elder Scrolls for a video game example, or Lord of the Rings, but it's not as low as Game of Thrones is. Especially early Game of Thrones. The first season/book has like, two fantastic elements. Maybe three.
Anyway I guess what I am saying is that you're both ****ing losers, but you less so than Nephthys. 👆

😂
I'll watch the gameplay videos, the previews and such. I'll do my research etc, and then decide whether I should pre-order.
Truth is, I'm likely going to buy this unless it's a total and utter steaming pile of shit. It's just a question of how much I'm going to be willing to spend on top of that.
