Superboy Prime vs The Avengers

I seem to recall you saying something along the lines of this..

Hulk gives him a fight but he would "probably" lose in the end..

And this...

D***, I forgot about that. Prime solos.

How do you have such phenomenal recollection?
I'm good if I can remember what I said 5 minutes ago ...
😎

We had a lil debate in this thread. AND it's rare to see him say Hulk would lose so it stuck out in my memory 😄

I agree, Prime can beat Hulk but not easily. I also think Hulk can beat Prime but not easily. The thread starter posted in this thread and took bfring off. That was the reason I said Prime stomps.

I think that, because Carver is used to debating Hulk and Hulk alone in most threads, he's forgotten that Hulk has another powerful ally in this matchup. Were this only Hulk alone with SBP, stuck on Earth with lots of civilian innocents around, I'd probably give Superboy Prime the nod, too. For that state of affairs would prevent him from going World Breaker and getting the decisive strength advantage over Prime.

But Hulk isn't alone here.

There's also THIS guy, who apparently has the ability to push his limits to a higher level when the situation demands ...

Oh yeah i forgot about them taking BFR off.

Guess that takes away the whole "Thor can teleport Prime..." argument too

Source: Wish I knew 🙁 (picked up this scene from some random Thor Appreciation thread)

When was Battlefield Removal taken away as an option in this thread?

Just looked for it and couldn't find any such post. Looks like BFR is on and poppin

Thanks.

Say, Jug, any chance you've got Marvel Team Up #116?

It's entitled Spider-man versus Valkyrie or some such.

There, Valkyrie, a member of the Defenders, gets her sword possessed somehow. The weapon mind controls her until, in battle with Spider-man, Petey manages to take it from her hands, whereupon, not boethering to try to possess HIM, the weapon instead attacks him all by itself. Thor, having seen Spider-man engage Valkryie before this, mistakenly thinking was attacking his girl, happens now to be on hand, listens to Spider-man's explanation, smashes Valkyrie's sword with one blow from his hammer, then uses Mjolnir to open a portal into space and swallow the demon(s) that possessed it.

Great example of Thor using Mjolnir-BFR on an otherwise too-dangerous to-handle-by-conventional-means opponent.

To be fair, Hulk himself commented that he didn't know half the people he was fighting of the X-Teams he DID face ...

Corroboration.

In lieu of Marvel Team Up #116, perhaps the following might make for an even better showing.

Thor #2, Volume 2, battle field removal of the powerful Destroyer:

Insofar as Thor and Hulk are the only ones who have real business confronting Prime face-to-face, and that the others or other innocents might need saving, it's worthwhile to point out that Thor cannot only send ENEMIES away with Mjolnir, but also friends or those he wants to PROTECT.

From Thor #192, if I have this correct:

Scans, please, of Tony using teleport tech?

Here's one such instance, but I don't have the ref info for this one:

Another instance of Thor opening up a portal to another dimension.

The Negative Zone. Avengers #309, I think.

Worthwhile to point out Thor, with Mjolnir, has some magical properties besides dimensional transfer (BFR) that might prove useful in a fight like this, including, apparently, a phasing "cheat" and healing technique.

Presumably this could be used not only on himself but also on others:

Thor #428.

I believe his point was that WWH beating pretty much the entire X-Men roster that was present at the time isn't uber impressive. The fact that several of the more powerful ones were not there gives reason to believe that Hulk wouldn't have found the team so easy to overcome had they all been present

And you should really read Fear Itself where the X-Men are trying to stop Kuurth. This team is much more powerful that the one that fought WWH and much more organized. WWH would not have survived everything they threw at Kuurth imho

Kuurth seems to be a relatively simple re-telling of the typical X-Men/Juggernaut battle. Just a slightly more "unstoppable" version of him than average. I googled some of the terms you gave me and actually came upon a video with some select scans from the magazine.

Had me wondering:
