Link doesn't die because he doesn't die. He wins. That doesn't mean he's invulnerable to their attacks. My god this is some of the worst logic I've ever seen. The game never portrays Link as beyond injury/death let alone against a Goron. Russell's much stronger than Gorons. His strength feats also prove this.
So you deny that you said that Goron's can hurt him while saying nothing about killing him? Even if you dont like the boots thing, the fact is that the Gorons still repeatedly hit Link in canon* and he suffers no damage.
Russell's stronger? Lets compare;
-Russell rips someone head off? Gorons casually roll around while crushing head-sized rocks.
-Russell stops a breaking car moving at best 5mph? Gorons pastime, besides eating rocks, is punching wide tunnels through solid rock. In fact they can tunnel/punch though so easily that they make tunnels as fast as you can walk.
-Russell tips a 1 ton car? Gorons, as Scream posted, can punch around hundreds of tons worth of rock with a single punch.
Feats and portrayals prove that Gorons casually demolish stone with punches. That is > leaving a dent in a car.
*In the wrestling match, in the cutscene where Link gets knocked back by a rolling Goron and in the cutscene before the wrestling where the player if forced to be hit and knocked back. Link gets hit by creatures that can effortlessly destroy rocks and suffers no damage.

Link can die though in the game. He can survive attacks from Hyrulians. I never said he couldn't but he isn't surviving Russell's attacks.
Wait what kind of logic is this?
Hyrilians hitting him in the game = Link surviving their attacks..
..but Gorons hitting him in the game =/= Link surviving their attacks?

I am not saying he won't ever get caught off guard. We won't see these guys above bullets in every instance since that makes for boring television. The point is they are so fast humans can't even see their actions with the naked eye. Russell has moved well over 50 feet up to a human and disarmed him before he even could see what was happening. Russell is too fast for Link. Russell is too strong for Link. Russell is too ruthless for Link.
Oh no no no.. 'He saw them, saw the shot coming, saw the net, failed to react or budge an inch'. Usually if you said that everyone was caught off guard then maybe Id give you some merit, but the thing is these are vampires. Vampires that can apparently move so fast that humans cant keep track of them < casting a net?
Y'know a humans reaction times is at 0.2 seconds, 0.1 for peak humans? Well that net took 0.5 seconds to reach Bill(?), 0.7 if we take in the time before the shot was fired and yes the fact that he saw him before the shot was fired takes away that 'caught off guard' notion unless vamps are too simple minded to connect AVL with 'be on your guard'. Id put good money on a peak human having a good chance to duck out of the way of that with that ample 0.7 seconds.
Oh and in that same ep a gang of vamps were being mowed down by bullets and failed to react to a single one (should have easily done so after the first shot), wheres that speed?
Urm.. is he floating like a butterfly, stinging like a bee too? Lets keep the 'he's the greatest' quotes for another time, yeah?

He can control what level of strength he uses but it shouldn't require any real effort but the game makes it clear it does.
So Russell can control his level of strength but Link cant?
Eg; Im fairly athletic so I have decent strength to my name. Now when I was assisting a friend in getting a dog to the vets, mid-small sized, even though Im much stronger than the dog and had to control my strength, even then there was some struggle so not to harm the dog. If Link went 100% ridged he would have harmed Epona. More importantly is that it wasn't about force.. it was about getting his horse to calm down. Its hard for someone/thing to be put in a headlock and feel calmer for it.

Dorf wasn't accessing the power triforce at the time nor do I think he's that powerful without directly accessing it. Link's strong yes but nowhere near the portrayal that Russell is on.
Dorf has been accessing the ToP since it activated, thats always been the way. So when has Russell had the strength to tear apart thick armour? Russ ripping out a spin is like shadow beasts tearing apart armoured soldiers, which Link defeats in hordes.

If you say his bare hands wreck Russell you need to prove it with an example. Anything else is just wishful thinking.
I.. Im not sure if I ever said that Link would use his bare hands O.o
Alright; the strength to push, pick up and throw the several ton Gorons. And no, the boots are needed to stop Link from being pushed around, so his lifting feats are a separate thing.
The strength to push around hundred ton blocks and to knock around an est 600 ton ice boss.
Oh, and moving 50ft before a normal person reacts? Thats like 75m/s speed, and 'disappearing' speed to a human is 90m/s.
Arrows move at around 60-90m/s. Arrows that not only has Link been swatting out of the air since in I think every game, but Link has also fought and defeated foes that can casually dodge arrows (eg Ganondorf).
