Iron Man 3 vs Man of Steel

Remember, it's not DC, but Warner Bros. And Nolan's Batman trilogy wasn't fun compared to the Avengers and both TDK/TDKR made over a billion dollars. TDK adjusted for inflation is one of the best box office runs in our lifetime.

But TDK did very well with adding the right amount of humor. Plus the dialogue and acting were all class. MOS could do with a bit of that to put in the league of TDK, Avengers and X-Men First Class.

👆 Finally someone placing X-Men First Class in the top tier. 😎

Of course it was. On par with Avengers, Iron Man, BB and TDK Imho. Just wasn't the box office beast that they were.

I thought MOS had just as much humor as TDK. Hell, I didn't find anything humorous in TDKR and that was pretty much all dark.

TDKR toned the humor down a lot. But Imho was not as good as TDK. Not by a long shot tbh.

You think MOS had as much humor as TDK? With the Joker?

If it did I've completely missed that. I don't remember laughing much during MOS. Of course I do remember being on the edge of my seat for most the movie.

Not comedy laugh out loud comedy, but it had some decent humor. Nolan doesn't really do humor that well and it reflects in his Dark Knight trilogy. I hardly laughed in any of those movies, but I still thought it was awesome.

Joker's magic trick was the only real thing I laughed out loud, but that's just me.

the thing is though Batman isn't the type of character/film to deal with humor

I know, yet is still made over a billion dollars.

^ That's fine as long as the movie doesn't even attempt humor. However I felt like MOS did attempt it in places but it just wasn't working.

But it's not like that ruined the movie for me or anything. Just pointing out I can see where some people might want to attack the movie.

lol.. people know that the character is dark so therefore no humor unless its very subtle ..

what does that have anything to do with it..

also regarding Man of Steel, there doesn't need to be humor in that either..

Man of Steel was fine and entertaining, but Iron Man 3 beats it hands down.

In IM3, the script was just plain wittier, the action was more fun and the cast was better written.

The cast of MoS was fine too (in fact, I thought everyone was very well cast), but they aren't given much to do and none of them are able to really shine like RDJ.

No on Bale Batman for Jla movie. If they had Bale that would greatly help the movie.

Think we all expected that, tbh.

It's a good thing in the end, imo.

I'd rather have Bale as the Batman; personally.

I don't think his Batman really works in a Justice League movie. To keep Bale but change Batman so substantially would only confuse people, I think. Plus, he needs to be younger and in better shape to keep up with his super-powered bros.

To me he'd be fine as a Hawkeye type save he'd be in more of a leadership role. He'd come back out of retirement due to this big threat which required them to form the JLA.

nothing to read.. batman is not a comedy.. people love Nolan's take, that is why they are successful

I know, I wasn't trying to make it out to be. That wasn't my point.

I doubt people would be confused personally. It would be more like "Ah now Batman's showing what he can really do."

I just think it's unfortunate because at this point even a World's finest with Caville and Bale co-crated by both Nolan and Snyder would likely be an Avenger's level box office hit.

And if they did that it hurts the DKT cause now it would be like well why didn't Baleman just do that crazy stuff before.

Face it Nolan's take on the character was too realistic for a JL movie.

How much has MoS earned right now?

Doubt it would be a big issue. People undertsand Nolan's movies were more story focused.

I think being more realistic is what makes Batman work tbh. But doesn't matter, they're not using Bale/Nolan's Batman.
