Thanos as the most powerful being is hearsay. For all we know, he could still get punked in Avengers 3.

False. Thanos has a canon scene whereas this interview backed up the Hulk is greater than Thor in the film scene.
BTW anyone else find it weird we have yet to get an official trailer even though this movie is supposed to come out next year.
Originally posted by wakkawakkawakkaHulk can't solo everyone and we will need to see the film. I was using this to back the clear depiction of him rocking Thor in their struggle onscreen.
How was Hulk greater than Thor again? Didn't Thor smack him into a plane? But if that really is the case then what's the point of watching this movie when, according to that statement, Hulk should be able to casually solo Ultron and whatever lackeys he has.BTW anyone else find it weird we have yet to get an official trailer even though this movie is supposed to come out next year.

why put the statement in the film at all if it is false ? Quit being stupid.
Could it be just the opinion of the character who said it?????? Could it be exaggeration???? Could the writers just be f ucking with us?????
We don't know anything until we see actual screen feats. And I want Thanos to be the most dangerous in MCU btw. Just pointing out your stupidity.
^ Yeah that statement is by an In Universe Fallible Character. I doubt it's a "fact" that Thanos is more powerful than Odin. That being said the reason the statement was there was to begin building up Thanos as the big bad.

Neither Thor nor Odin nor Thanos were mentioned in that Whedon statement.
So either the statement is completely literal or not. Which is it?
Thanos so far has done nothing except get punked and threatened by a loser who had a single infinity gem.
Now I'm sure they'll build him out to be extremely powerful, but to go off of the statement of some lackey as irrefutable fact considering what we're shown is a clownish move.
We'll have to wait and see how they handle his powers; hoping they build him out to be a mental threat and not just some physical bruiser.

lol I still die at your "rage-quit offscreen" comment battle with quan from the ronan vs thor thread

random question is random...but.. in the first avengers movie, the part where barton says "its a gateway to the other end of space right? doors open from both sides", reveals that SHIELD knew the cube was a "portal". basically they knew it was the space stone in a sense. my question is how the hell did they know this? I mean...up until this point, they only knew it was hydras secret weapon. It has only been used as an energy source for guns and what not. Rogers saw the cube transport red skull but he was put on ice shortly after. and did not find out SHIELD had the cube until Fury approached him AFTER it was stolen. so how did SHIELD let alone hawkeye know about its ability to open portals? did they tinker with it and open one by accident prior? doubt i. and if so, why did they all of a sudden lack the ability to control it again? hell why were they having such a hard time with it in the first place when red skull IN The 40s had it under control. In fact, Schmidt for all his craziness seemed to be well versed in the Cube. knowing its asgardian "origins" and what not. "the jewel of Odin's treasure room", yet HE didn't even know what it really was. so how did SHIELD?? shit never made sense to me... there is no canon explanation as to how SHIELD knew of its full capabilities. again like I said I know its random but anyone care to take a whack at explaining it?

There was a whole bunch of research done on the cube that we aren't aware of, so SHIELD knowing it opens portals isn't too surprising.
Red Skull was using the cube for the basic purpose of fueling his weapons. Red Skull wasn't using it for scientific research, and as far as we know, he had no idea it opened portals.
I don't think SHIELD or HYDRA had full control of the cube's powers. HYDRA may have figured out how to use it as a power source for weaponry, and SHIELD probably did lots of scientific research on it, but neither could wield its full power.

My bet would still be on Odin being more powerful. Unfortunately the Thor movies aren't really getting into just how powerful he is.
