Ok, Quan.

Someone accused Quan of being my sock. The strange part (commonly called "irony"😉 about that was, it was a sock making that accusation.

So...about that Avengers 2 film....

Maybe it was Quan's sock.

What a twist.

The action in Avengers 2 is better than transformers because it's coherent and in service of the story. As fun as the action was, it did irk me a little. The action seemed at times very unrealistic and cartoonish, which is in stark contrast with the gritty and realistic action in tws and gotg. Too much cgi was used.

The chief problem with this movie is that Whedon didn't stick to his strengths, which are character development, character interaction and emotionally raw sequences in the plot. He focused more on the typical blockbuster summer popcorn tropes to satisfy whatever. Still a good movie, but it's not great.

^ Going by Whedon's interviews I get the strong feeling he did this one for the money.

I dunno. Seems more likely the film got butchered in the editing process in an attempt to make it shorter. I mean they've already announced an extended cut and I'm fairly certain no previous Marvel film has had an extended cut released.

I seriously doubt that.

I agree, this is more likely.

IF this isn't Whedon's strength he should do it more often imo. As I think this was better than the first Avengers.

Btw, I don't feel the movie was butchered.

But if people think the story wasn't fleshed out, it wasn't because Whedon was just doing this movie to make money.

To expand on this, the actual run-time of AoU is over 3 and a half hours long. Kevin Fiege said "lol nope" and had Whdeon take out almost 70 minutes of footage.

So... Yeah. 70 minutes of plot and dialogue are missing from the theatrical cut.

Isn't that the norm though in movies? Having to cut lots of minutes out of movies to shorten the running time.

"One of the most"

It's impossible to definitively pick a single movie as the most quoted .

Sure, one of the most quotable, if we define "most" as "not even in the top 100" I suppose I'd agree.

It's almost like our opinions on this topic differ.

Though to be more constructive, what quotes in Fight Club do you find so quotable?

Also, Age of Extinction is the only Transformers movie and intellectually I find it a terrible, terrible movie. But I just watched 47 Ronin to pass the time, and Transformers does that in a similar way, I suppose.

The one about fighting.

To continue the debate from the movie: Jane Foster or Pepper Potts?

Well, life is like a box of chocolates, I'll be back to make you an offer you can't refuse. By the way what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow, I'm asking cause I don't want to go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line, especially cause we are not in Kansas anymore.

Yea, that one.

It's really not Whedon's speciality, but I agree he still did quite a good job. Not great, but good.
