creating Ultron would draw some scrutiny

Most likely if S.H.I.E.L.D. still had a presence.

Yeah I mean, it's all pretty much his fault. Banner's too

Movie was great, liked the darker tone.

Set about a motion of events that almost culminated with the extinction of the human race? Maybe that one?

Hulk's best scene was cut from the movie in the editing process.

Of coarse they would cut out an awesome scene, I mean why the **** not.

Hope Wheldon gets fired.

I'm going to watch this movie again this weekend and give a more detailed over view of my thoughts on it.

So would I, if it didn't cost me like 20$

You better earn it somehow.

He gave permission to Marvel to use the awesome Hulk scene in another movie so it's not lost and some times sacrifices have to be made.

Also, how's he supposed to get fired? He's unemployed right now.

Man, the disappointment of this flick is really settling in.

Good.

Not really illegal though.

He had no direct hand in that. All he did was create Ultron who went crazy and did all of that. If I have a baby and it grows up to massacre people I'm not gonna be held accountable for that. Ultron was an AI, it's actions were it's own.

At most it was reckless endangerment but I really don't see how anyone could have reasonably expected Ultron would act in such a way or be capable of overpowering Jarvis' security so easily. Morally speaking it was wrong of him to create Ultron with no oversight or extensive safety measures but legally speaking he was under no obligation to do either of those things.

If a company creates a computer program with the intent to have all of the worlds internal knowledge as a "Suit of Armor for the planet" and then it breaks shit down and people end up dead, those people get arrested. Like, no question.

That's actually not true.

Motor car companies have put out faulty vehicles that have been linked to deaths. The worst they have gotten is fined. And those companies even knew the items were faulty and carried risk. At least Tony has plausible deniability on his side as he did not know what would happen or that a freak dormant AI would take over and twist his protocols.

Legally speaking the issue is muddied by what exactly the Avenger's are. They have no government oversight and were solely tied to SHIELD as an organisation which is now defunct. Seemingly, Tony is basically a private citizen who owns his own massive company. He's not really accountable to anyone at the moment other than the US government and has to follow no rules other than the law. And legally speaking I'm not aware of any law that he broke unless there are already laws in place about the handling of AI. He's basically an private inventor who's invention went haywire.

Also iirc there was a subplot in Ironman 2 about how much the government could interfere with his shit and it was resolved with them basically giving him free reign.

^ I'm sure if their motor cars were going on a killing spree trying to mass murder people, then the motor car companies would get more than just fines.

And of course it's illegal for Tony to make a "world peace keeping army" without anyone's consent Lol

And of course he'd face more than just fines if his robotic army's AI attempted to destroy the human race. Especially when he was messing with technology that wasn't his own and that he wasn't sanctioned to mess with.

Tony Stark didn't make a trans-am, he made a sentient killer psycho-bot that attempted to murder the planet.

He secretly experimented on powers beyond his control without any thought of the consequences and countless people died. Except all he does is crack-wise and all of it's okay, and the Avengers are cool with. That's terrifying.
