Sad news, everyone. My PS4 won't stay on for more than a minute or two. Just got it this evening. I play AC4 for about 20 minutes then the damn thing shut off. Just saw a white light before no beeps. I reset the system and I honestly couldn't be bothered to open a up a brand new device. I've put the system back in its box and I'm going to try and contact Sony at 6 in the morning. I don't even live in the US right now so contacting Sony alone is going to cost me an arm a leg I won't even talk about the cost of shipping this ****ed console. I knew this would happen. If it weren't for shitty luck I wouldn't have any. At least I have my PS3 and a few extra games on the way just in case this happened. I think I'm going to get a refund from amazon. This isn't cool.

That sucks massive hairy balls.

Just so you know, Sony stores are offering exchanges for faulty PS4's regardless of where you initially purchased the faulty device. If you have one local to you you may want to look into that.
Don't have a local store, but I'm chatting with an amazon rep as we speak. She says sending a replacement isn't a problem. That's cool and all, but I don't want to have to 180 dollars again for import duty since I live outside the continental US (The Bahamas).
Update: She says I won't have to pay duty whenever the new console arrives (in a few days) and she assured me that the new console will be better. I truly hope and pray so. AC4 was breathtaking and vibrant. Simply amazing...
It's crazy to see the difference between this launch compared to previous generations.
Previously, it took a few weeks/months for people to notice that failure rates of the 360.
With the PS4, we know instantly that people have failing consoles and treating it like the 360 RRoD.
It will be very interesting to see how the XBOX One does in terms of hardware failure. You would expect MS to make sure that the console will not fail.
Also the kinda nice thing about the PS4 failures is that they've been pretty immediate. You get a bad system and it immediately fails. Where as a defective X360 might not rear its head for months or even years, and that gave every person who purchased a 360 early in the console's lifespan a sense of uncertainty. I'd frankly rather have the PS4 style failure that is immediately known, so you can get it taken care of and be done with it.

I would too. However, the issue may not be merely an immediate thing and the problem may continue to plague the machines and pop up a few months down the road as well. Be interesting to see what happens. Ultimately, this is the reason I refrain from buying consoles at launch.
Reviews are in for Forza 5.
Mostly are all good to really good.
I am disappointed by cutting of tracks from Forza 4 to Forza 5. I do agree with the developers about how they needed to redo all the tracks becaus of next gen.
It might be a cop-out answer but most reviews have said that the tracks are infinitely better than previous gens. Same with the cars.
Probably the best launch between both consoles.

Also, here's the polygon review for the Xbox One:
Yeah. It does make sense.
One the biggest complaints I have about GT5 is that 3/4 cars quarters are shitty ports from other games.
I want to play in the BMW M5, not shitty port of it.
I think the tracks are big let down, cars less so (500 cars are awesome to have but 200 expertly detailed vehicles is great as well). I think if Turn 10 gives out some of their own designed tracks (like Maple Valley) free of charge during the next 2-3 years, I think that would make people a bit happier.
I don't expect Turn 10 to redo all of old tracks and release them for free, just a few.
