I would agree on that.But who thinks that the Wii audience would of bought the Wii U? It was a massive success because non gamers bought it. For example, my brother bought it because he liked Wii Sports. He never bought any games and just play golf on it. He didn't even know the Wii U existed.
It's unlikely that Nintendo can get that market again.
That's partially because they marketed it and named it like an extension of the Wii, to the point they eventually made commercials flat out telling people that it's not just a new controller. Their attempt at being cute backfired
And while everyone didn't buy games, enough did that proper 3rd party support would have done well to utilize.
