The Wii U already has that one killer game that should have been a real system seller in Super Mario 3D World, for some reason it just hasn't been that game and people don't seem to talk about it, but it truly is a fantastic game. Almost as fun and innovative as the Galaxy games imo. When you factor in the other exclusive games it has, I'd say it's definitely worth a purchase by now.
They do rehash. Mario Kart has played the same since the original one. They might add a few things but in the end, it's the same game. Same with Zelda.
Other series do it as well but most series generally don't reuse the same structure. Nintendo does. Every single Zelda game has the same enemies, the same dungeons and the same storyline. It might look different and they add a few new gameplay elements but it's the same.
Zelda doesn't have the exact same dungeons and storyline. A lot of Zelda games don't even take place in Hyrule.
Though, considering a couple of pages ago, you said CoD/Madden players were hardcore, I'll take your opinions with a grain of salt.
Nintendo actually makes a lot of new IPs. They made Pushmo, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, Steel Diver, and Dillon's Rolling Western. They're also making Splatoon, Project Guard, Project Giant Robot, and Project Steam.

What's the difference?
I already said that the producer of CoD himself said he doesn't consider CoD players core gamers.
And really, there's only so much you can do to change a kart racer because it's all going to have the same objective: Getting to the finish line first.
There is a vast difference between core and hardcore gamers...

Originally posted by Smasandianwell the storyline part is completely false. The last two games alone disprove that and they aren't a new trend.
