I would say that most gamers are manchildren.

I would expect that Nintendo has their die-hard group of fans while Sony/MS do not (I'm guessing users of Sony/MS are more genre/series fans than the console itself).

Other series do it as well but most series generally don't reuse the same structure. Nintendo does. Every single Zelda game has the same enemies, the same dungeons and the same storyline. It might look different and they add a few new gameplay elements but it's the same.

Like I said, a lot of the Zelda games don't even take place in Hyrule. Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening, and the Oracles games.

There was a decently long discussion in some other thread that I can't recall where I brought up Halo, and also CoD.

But, yeah. If you define a manchild as one who misses what Rareware used to be (those old enough to do so, which I would guess is a sizable sum of Nintendo's biggest audience), then I guess that would be the case.

They do use similar concepts but I think Zelda games are more diverse then you are giving them credit tbh, it's not like say dynasty warriors. Though I agree the mainline nintendo games tend to follow rehashes alot

It's definitely not like Dynasty Warriors... and they are diverse enough to not be similar but they do follow previous games a lot.

I wouldn't mind seeing something completely new from Nintendo. Does anybody remember when Metriod Prime came out? That blew my mind! You don't get that with current Nintendo games.

I agree with new ips, but I don't think its something that can be done so easily.

But they DID show new IPs.

I myself am pissed that Monster hunter 4 ultimate is 3ds exclusive , would have given me reason to play my wii u some more outside of smash.
