Regarding that EU stuff it not being Canon, Would the Force Unleashed be in that same boat even when Lucas said it was?

When did Lucas say TFU was canon? I know he was asked for some input, but that's different to officially declaring it as part of his vision.

Anyway no TFU is not canon. Pablo Hidalgo who works with the new Lucasfilm story group tweeted that a couple months back. Also makes sense since it would come into conflict with the new animation coming "Rebels" which will be official canon.

The Force Unleashed is canon, since it was co-conceived by George Lucas, making it G-Level canon. The same applies for the two television series, The Clone Wars and the upcoming live-action series. Both of the latter Lucas acknowledged as forthcoming as early as the late nineteen-seventies, and that they would be a part of the overall canonical story alongside the films. Only G-level properties are considered to be as much canon as the six films.

Anyway it's old and the new Lucasfilm have officially announced now that it's only the films and TCW which are official canon from previous work.

Good one Disney overlooking what Lucas has said.

Hop they will do that more often. 😉

To be fair the first Force Unleashed game was decent

as for the second it felt like Lucasarts just give up halfway through development.

That whole TFU/canon thing was always a red herring- Lucas has had creative input on plenty of EU stuff over time without intending to canonise it and people tend to overstate what his input was. Saying it was canon was just marketing.

Couldn't agree more. I remember finishing the first TFU game and immediately wanting a sequel. Solid game, decent story, really fun gameplay.

TFU 2 might just be one of the worst and most disappointing follow up games I've ever played.

Never played TFU2 - I thought the first game was very nice, though a bit short.

First game was very short, but entertaining. Left me wanting more.

You didn't miss much with TFU2. The series was supposed to be a trilogy, but TFU2 was so off the mark they cancelled the third.

They didn't even try putting any effort in to the design of each level "turn left, go down this hallway, turn right, go down that hallway....rinse, wash, repeat...."

Very repetitive game with an ending that leads to nowhere.

Hmmm… would have liked the rinse, wash, repeat version though.

I never bought The Force Unleashed, though I could have as a PS3 user. It's awesome for playing DVDs & blu-rays (3D & 2D) but the Star Wars games I wanted the most always seemed to be on XBOX - Republic Commando, Empire At War, Battlefront etc.

Battlefront II… I had some great times with that one.

apparently he will be thinner than expected and bearded. he looks way better than he did a few months ago, I must say.
