Yes, this. It is fairly definitive that what the Dark Wizards do is not necessarily apparating but flying around as clouds of smoke.

Wrong: the books are not allowed in these threads. You must use what is seen in the movies. That cloud form is not apparation, as described in the movies. That form is also never referred to as aparation. They are two separate "abilities"/forms and they are even depicted different, visually.
