SM2 was great but honestly I've never got the big deal behind SM1. Origin and discovering his powers and responsibilty, and the daily bugle stuff was all done well, but it all went down hill from there. Love story sucked, Green Goblin's mask was terrible, there was no great action scene between Spidey and Goblin, and I still can't get over how coincidental it was that Parker just happens to become Spider-Man at the same time his best friend's dad happens to be doing experiments to make him the Green Goblin. It honestly got boring once GG came along.
The origin story in SM1 and the whole of SM2 are all I liked about those movies. But SM3 really just took the whole series downhill. So far as films SM2 is probably still my favourite(probably just edging it over TASM1 for me), but as a series I prefer Webb's to Ramai's, and it's really no contest to me.

They should turn him into a superhero. After all he was a Spider-Man fanatic, and only turned evil over a misunderstanding (and probably his powers driving him nuts).
And poor Spidey has no superheroes to team up with being stuck with Sony all by himself. The guy would consistently team up with the Fantastic Four and The Avengers in the comics. Spidey and the Torch were even supposed to be best superhero buddies.
So since all that is missing in the movie Universe, I think they should give that back in an unorthodox way like making a couple of the villains switch to heroes. And it's not like they've never gone there in the comics. Sandman turned into an ally of Spiderman's for quite some time (before he eventually turned evil again). I even used to have a team up comic of theirs.
I'd personally be all for it if they did it right, and not in the cheesy silly way Green Goblin suddenly turned good in SM3.

Avi Arad mentioned it's always possible as it would benefit both companies. He said that a couple of years ago. But nothing since. Wouldn't work financially Imo because the studio would never agree on how to share the profits of the movie. The only guys Spidey will team up with are ones from his own gallery.

Its funny how Supes is accused of not caring about people dying just for fighting in a city but no one mentions it when Spidey wastes time cracking jokes while cops are being shot at with automatic weapons and the bad guys are plowing through cars.
But then, ASM2 didn't remind people of 9/11 so I guess it makes sense. 🙄

Not that I agree with the all the on top MOS criticisms but I think the difference is Supes was actually causing destruction himself.
Just watched MOS again the other night, and it was getting to me when he first flies into Zod, he just doesn't stop pushing him across Smallville, just carries on smashing through some sort of power plant, then carries on and on until he lands flat into a fuel station which explodes.
Gotta say, that was some pretty reckless shit. Don't think Spidey cracking jokes mid car chase really compares (although that was pretty stupid, as he should have stopped him there and then when he was knocking on the window).
But I don't remember him cracking jokes during gun fire. I remember him disarming the goons with guns pretty quickly.

Dude, if someone had just choked out my mother I'd ****ing slam him through a power plant too. I don't think Supes was even looking at where he was going, he was just wailing on Zod in a rage.
Anyway DP, Spidey putting people in danger just so he can crack jokes is WAY more reckless than Supes punching Zod through a building to try to beat him.
