Doesn't exactly help prove anything when shit like IM3 is rated so highly.

The movie has its problems, sure, but exaggerating the Superman thing isn't very fair, imo.
So are you saying you wanted the characters to be weaker than they are in the comics? They already are, and that includes Superman.
Thats not what im really saying at all. I want characters treated with respect from the source material. BUT making some tweaks and alterations to characters and lore that help make a movie better is the way to do things in order to have a coherent movie that will be enjoyed by all. Not just Comic fans.
Because everything from the comics doesn't translate well to a film.
Like my previous Flash example. I think they did a good job with him. Good thing they didnt over do it with his comic ridiculousness.
Im not happy when characters i like are toned down, but I can understand why it was done, and especially if those "tweaks" helped make the film a better experience overall.

The X-universe looked like it was dead, but got rejuvenated with Deadpool and Logan. Same with Wonder woman.
Wonder Woman didnt rejuvenate the DCEU. All the Wonder Woman movie did was for audiences to be interested in "her" only not the rest of the DCEU.
After WW, People were more interested in Wonder Woman 2 than Justice league.

Here is the difference.
I for one HATE Iron-man 3. Its the MCU movie i rank last in my opinion.
BUT as a movie is wasnt a bad movie per say.
- It had a decent enough plot
- Acting was good.
- Special effects were good.
- There was no editing problems
- Tone of the movie was ok
- Scenes were not all over the place.
- etc.
So as far as it being a coherent well made movie. It pretty much hits all the marks.
Now compare that to lets say Justice League. ( I thought JL was ok)
But far as it being a well made movie, it is not.
- Bad CGI
- Rushed
- Plot was not too good
- Acting was off for some characters
- Editing was a big issue
- Tone was all over the place. Some grim dark parts, some Whedon light hearted tonal shifts from scene to scene.
- Certain scenes felt just thrown in there.
- etc.
Did I enjoy Justice League more than IM3? Probably. Was it a better made movie? No.
So I can see why critics (non comic fans) would vote the way they did, and why these 2 movie have the scores they do, and to me it makes sense if you look at it that way.

Also, if you don't like "ridiculousness" then I really think you'll hate Flashpoint if it's at all related to the comics.

Can't say I agree with most of that, tbh. At least where IM is concerned. The only thing about IM3 I really liked was RDJ, but that's because he's an amazing actor and can do wonders with anything.

The DCEU will probably crumble unless JL has incredible legs and can somehow overcome their disastrous OW.

You emphasized money more than ratings in your post, so that's what I replied to.
And I still think IM3 is not that good a movie at all.
Yes, WB needed to do something drastic. JL, imo, is the start of that. It's obviously a transitional movie.
Originally posted by -Pr-Not really. I was emphasizing the the false notion IM3 is a bad movie. A bad movie would either be low on ratings, or earnings, or both. When a movie makes over 1 billion dollars AND has good ratings...you can't objectively call it a bad movie.

Don't get me wrong, there are movies in the MCU that I don't like. Thor 2, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk to name a couple. I'm also not a huge fan of IM3, but it's not a bad movie. It's a different take on not only Tony/IM but also the Mandarin and our expectations in general. It did something bold and it payed off. I did find the film funny and I generally enjoyed it. Is it a great movie? No. Not to me, but it's not OBJECTIVELY bad either.

IM3 is not bad, but it's not what many people expected to see.
I can accept Mandarin being someone else, but they pretty much abandoned the previous setup of the Ten Rings.
