Your probably right. I am excited for this, but my fear has always been they just make this all about Wolverine. That's what ruined the original trilogy for me. Whilst First Class had no Wolverine, and is one of my favorite comic book movies of all time.

Exactly. The chemistry between Charles and Eric is what made First Class so awesome, and that's what I want to get back to as well. We've already had The Wolverine last year, so don't need that again this year.

Let's just keep our hopes up, and hope that guy is a critic who is exaggerating.

First Class got it on the right track, and I bet a pure sequel to that without Wolverine would have passed the $500mill WW mark easily.

Magneto's a far more interesting and exciting character than Wolverine.

I think Fanboy is a well deserved name for anyone coming out with that claim.

Besides you were impying Wolverine is needed to bring in money. That kind of thinking is retarded and is why Fox's X-Men continually fail to gross more than $500mill WW.

You have to put other characters in the spotlight to transform them into potential money makers, like they've done with Charles and Eric in First Class.

Well on the plus side Hugh Jackman was saying this is more of a character piece for Wolverine, and implied he's in less action this time. So I'm guessing more of the major action is left with Magneto, Mystique and maybe Beast. Plus we already know there's a major one with Quicksilver. I'm hoping that stands out as much as when we saw Nightcrawler attacking the Whitehouse in X2 back all those years ago. The difference being we never saw Nightcrawler again(didn't want anyone else to get too popular and take some of the limelight off Wolverine), but Quicksilver is already confirmed for the next one I believe.

HUGE DIFFERENCE THERE PAL!

Firstly IM made himself the most popular in his own movie (miles more popular than big screen Wolverine btw), whilst Fox had just promoted Wolverine from day1 to be the most popular without giving any other character a chance for popularity. Marvel gave all the Avengers a solo movie all having their chance to shine.

Secondly Just because IM was the face of the Avengers didn't mean they shat all over Thor, Hulk and Cap. On the contrary Cap lead the team and Hulk/Thor were the clear powerhouses of the heroes. In fact their fight was one of the big highlights of the movie.

Huge huge difference which is why Marvel studios have had much greater success than Fox who had an 8 year headstart on Marvel.

Edit- But I'm sure Fox have realised this now which is why First Class and DOFP have happened.

Well I've read FC is the start of a trilogy which will lead to the Real First Class ( minus Ice-Man & Angel).

But yeah FOX clearly don't like Cyclops and have no respect to how much that character means to the name X-Men.
