End credits scene in X3:

YouTube video

Remember the very beginning of X3, Xavier was talking to his students about a brain-dead man and the ethics in transferring another's mind into the body.

Them not touching back on it for this new film is weak though.

I remember the ending of X3 where Charles transferred his consciousness, yeah. But how in the f*ck is it an identical clone?

Weak sauce, indeed.

Just got back from watching it so here's my mini review. First thing i gotta say is that the movie was.. ok. I cant say it was bad but cant say with a clean councious that it was good either. They did a nice job tying both first class and the trilogy together, at least Mystic is lo longer a complete stranger to an older Xavier like it seemed in X1. Still left some things unanswered like how is Charles still alive. Also the whole love triangle or whatever the heck it was between Charles, Eric and Raven was kind of unnecessary. I did get the feeling that writers tried hard with the story, scenes like Charles talking to his younger self etc it was emotional.. but like everything else lost in an overly complicated slow paced story. At some point I actually cought myself thinking "Come on already!". That prison scene with Pietro was the best part of the movie. And while im happy for Quicksilver that's hardly a compliment for the movie. Now if i had to sum it all up in one sentence id say - it feels like reading a really long comicbook that has a retcon within a retcon. Nothing i didnt see coming tbh making a movie about time-travel is always a risk and ends up with an overly complicated event by the end of which noone remembers anything which is never good. Still I hope it does ok in the cinemas, wouldnt want it to be the last X-men movie.

jut got back from seeing this.. I liked it.. very well written, jackman had excellent chemistry with mcavoy, lawrence, and fassbender.. hoult too..

the sentinels were what i expected them to be. pretty decent action but that i wanted more of.. loved the post credit scene too

all in all 9.7/10

Forgot to mention. Quicksilver was fantastic. His action scene was phenomenal and up there with Nightcrawler's White House infiltration. I also loved how they hinted at his parentage.

That was great.

Have you played the portal games?

Yep.

The scene where she

Spoiler:
accelerated Colossus was pretty much straight from portal.

I did like how Eric

Spoiler:
whooped non-metal Logan's butt! I was worried they were going to make them equals 😂

And yeah Quicksilver was cool but

Spoiler:
a bit too powerful. Would be pretty difficult to stage a fight between him and anyone else. They will always have to have plot devices to keep him out of the main action.

S'funny how The Sentinels can't detect 3 mutants in their vicinity but the moment Magneto approaches they activate themselves....

Uhm, what?

Spoiler:
They were under Magneto's control. He activated them.

I must admit I did doze off for a couple of minutes (long day prior) but I assumed they automatically activated themselves in the presence of mutants...I thought Magneto simply inserted the steel rods in them just to control their movements?
Did I miss something where he actually re-programmed them?

Spoiler:
They weren't supposed to activate at all during that scene. Trask says as much. The presence of mutants shouldn't have activated them. Presumably, Mags activated them with the rods within them.

Ok. Sweet.

Just saw this. ****en amazing. Solid 9/10

Then again, if Mags did activate them...what was the purpose of that? The 1st thing he does is destroys one for attacking a fellow mutant?

He used them to terrorize the gathered people.

He activated them to make a point. That mutants are powerful and cannot be subjugated by human made robots.

Sweet.

He also used them and made them attack humans to discredit Trask. Despite how f*cked up he was going about it, he still wanted to stop the Sentinels.

I loved how there was no black and white crap in the movie. The bad guys were bad for the right reasons, the good good for the eight reasons. Everyone was doing everything with good intentions

That's the beauty of X-Men. Magneto is especially interesting. And if you think about it, he's not any more evil (in these prequel films that is) than most governments today. In fact in a lot of ways there's a lot of nobility to him. If your a mutant chances are he'll fight to protect you from persecution.

Heck he even tried to

Spoiler:
save JFK

And most his evil actions against humans do seem to be in self defense or in seeking out justice where no one else would/could.
