Anyway, I tend to think Singer gets a bad rep. X2 was great and the first was good.

That's true in terms of just being an entertaining movie for your general audience. But they really reduced Cyclops role in that movie which was annoying because he didn't even have a big enough role in the first one.

That doesn't say much.

i'm surprised its taken this long to put Sentinels in a movie.

True. Was expecting them in the first or second movie. Then by the third just assumed they're never going to make a proper appearance.

Singer should'eve done an X-Force movie, Since he gives Wolverine alot of screen time.

X2 was the best of the original 3. It was generally an entertaining movie, but I don't see the point in having a Phoenix but then just having Cyclops locked up for the majority of the movie.

But I see your point. X2 + First Class are whats giving me any hope for this movie.

I don't think he will be the star of this movie (at least I hope not). I think the intention was to always just add him to help ratings, as First Class did not do as well as Wolverine Origins at the box office believe it or not.

Cyclops locked up?

Regardless of box office statistics and all that, First Class was heaps better then Origins.

It was better yeah but when it comes down to it they care more about it making money than anything else

Sad how the world works when it comes to box office statistics

"oooooh its made heaps it must be good" .

In X2 him and Xavier were captured early on, then we don't see Cyclops again until towards the end.

There is a cut scene which shows him in some kind of prison.

Of course. It was by far the best of all the X-Men movies Imo. And it's in my top 5 fav super-hero movies of all time.

There's lots of factors when it comes to box office. Fact is First Class did not have much hype to it (perhaps because there was no Wolverine), and was a reboot of sorts. But I always predicted a sequel would do very well at the box office. Because it was a fantastic movie(also perhaps because there was no Wolverine for a change), and word of mouth spreads sometimes after a movie is done at theatres. Just look at Batman Begins.

Sorry to ride your knutz but it did have Wolverine and, in fact, Wolverine had the best scene in the whole film. 😄

It was a good scene, but it was such a fantastic movie that there were plenty of better scenes 😛

Indeed.

But yeah, sad about it making less sales than Origins.

Ok, so it's confirmed that Peter Dinklage is playing Bolivar Trask. I'm just wondering if this makes any sense. I mean, he's a great actor and all but, why would a guy with dwarfism be all about the genetic purity of the human race? Surely a guy with dwarfism has experienced prejudice growing up just because of the way he was born right?

Bolivar Trask doesn't even have dwarfism to begin with, he's 5' 10".

They picked Peter Dinklage because Fox is a money grubbing whore and they know he's incredibly popular right now because of his role as Tyrion "The Imp" Lannister in Game of Thrones. They want to cash in on that. Dinklage is an amazing actor, and I would have loved him as Puck(which is really one of the only roles he could play), but it's clear they don't want him for his chops, they want him for his name which they hope will bring in more ticket sales.

That's what I'm saying. In the comics, he's just a regular guy who's seeing the decline of "his species", so he wants to wipe them out to "keep the bloodlines pure".

Seeing as to how dwarfism itself is a genetic mutation, it would be like if a Jewish person was the leader of the Nazis.

I'm sure Peter will own the role

but you'll still get people whining on about how its not true to the character....blah blah blah.

I have no doubt he'll sell it. And while I could care less about "truth to the character" and what not, as Fox has already raped any sense of continuity with this movie, it just doesn't make sense that a dwarf of all people would be a race purist when he'd often be in the same(but less extreme) boat as mutants because he's "different."

agreed 100%

They should at least address it in the film.
