Pitch Black, Chronicles of Riddick, and Riddick comprise my favorite trilogy. I just really like the characters, the setting, the story, and the tone.
And for everyone's information, the blu-ray Director's Cut will have 10 extra minutes.
I liked Riddick. It answered all questions and put him back into the place I always wanted him to be at.
A rogue warrior playing the galaxy at his own game.
Hoping we get a prison sequel where he plays all Butchers Bay style.
Actually the character of Riddick would do well in a TV series more than films.
Vin Diesel is looking for respect and TV is the place to do it. That is if he is serious at growing a fan following. For the Fast Furious crowd, although it brings in the pay check he needs to make Riddick relevant again amongst the geek community.

Nah, film is better. TV just drags shit out too much. Don't get me wrong, I'd watch it, lol, but I mean, unless it's on HBO or something, it would have to be dumbed down and probably wouldn't have top-notch production. I also feel like TV would be required to demystify the character. It would be forced to explain him too much.

So what is your dream project for Riddick in his next movie?
Well, I'm honestly curious to see what this "UnderVerse" is going to be like. I like the Necromonger story-arc personally (although I know I'm likely in the minority). I'm especially psyched about it potentially be R-rated. It sounds like after this 2013 Riddick they basically want to pick up where they were going to continue if CoR had been successful. UnderVerse and then Furya. I'm very confused about UnderVerse because Aereon describes it as a "constellation of dark new worlds" and mentions that it's the Necromonger's "Promised Land." It's supposed to be some viscious, violent alternate dimension, and the Necromongers understand it to be ravishing and beautiful. But they have a bit of a fixation on killing, death, and violence, so I suppose they would find a dark worlds "beautiful."
[From this interview here]This film, tonally and visually, seems to be quite different from the second film, which in turn was quite different from the first. Are you deliberately trying to give each of these films their own signature, their own identity so that it’s really not going to be more of the same?
TWOHY: The answer is yes and we talked about making the next movie, blowing the next movie out a bit and really going for it and making it the battle of Underverse and just really fu#king going crazy with it. It would demand more — this movie would have to be successful. It would demand a greater budget, but that’s a distinct possibility for movie number four. So yes, the idea that you can go from a small movie to a large movie to a small movie and then let the fans decide whether, “You know what? I like one, three and five better than two and four,” “Are you kidding me? I like the sweep of two and four.” We actually like that and we can’t think of another franchise that will do that, sort of talk about okay, this is one of their more intimate films, here is a big blow out film. We kind of like that duplicity.
I want to see them go fu#king crazy with the UnderVerse. It just still sort of seems up in the air as to whether they'll be able to use a bigger budget and do what they want to do (I've read that the film continues to open in other countries through November). But hey, I'll take some more lower-budget stuff, too, if that's the only way it can continue. I was thinking that there are many other possibilities for action on prison planets and merc ships and whatnot, but they already have explored those kinds of settings in Escape from Butcher Bay, Assault on Dark Athena, and the animated short Dark Fury. I don't think they want to retread where they've already been too much, which makes me wonder what they're going to do with the next video game. A Necromonger video game bridging the gap between CoR and Riddick would be cool. I doubt it, though.
(btw, a tidbit of information that rather disappoints and discourages me: I messaged Back Lot Music (the record label for Universal Studios) asking when the soundtrack would be available and I was told that it was "a late decision by the producers" not to release the soundtrack.)
