Mace beat Ventress, who lost to Anakin, who is able to see ships moving at sublight speeds in slow motion, who himself is unable to see Palpatine movements as only as a blur.
When Ventress fights Mace, she wasn't overwhelmed by sheer speed by Mace. If Mace was fighting with the same speed he fought vs Palpaine, she wouldn't even be able to see his strikes.
Dooku is also able to fight Mace without being overwhelmed by Mace's speed either, who was able to hold off Anakin for some time.
How ever you look at Vaapad is the deciding Factor of this duel.

Like I said pages ago....Dooku's Mastery of Makashi, Force lightning and TK won't save him.
His Mastery of Makashi will be over-powered by Vaapad as well as the lightning and the TK.

So just hang it up Dooku loses just like he lost against Anakin.
Anakin's Djem So over powered Dooku's Makashi .
I agree with KT and the majority...Mace still wins.
It didn't save him from Anakin....and his Furious Djem So...
IMO Vaapad is better than Makashi.
Heck Djem So is better than Makashi ...
Makashi has it's strong suits just simply not in this duel.
We all are well aware of Makashi's weaknesses. That's why Djem So was created to answer
the weaknesses of both Soresu and Makashi.

Dooku's Force Lightning also has its strong suits,just not in this duel
And most certainly not against Vaapad,you'll be terribly disappointed if you thought so.
Last but not least the debatable TK.
Dooku can lift and throw all the heavy objects he wants, the simple fact that now it,too
is debatable Dooku's fatigue...he will tire from (A) Throwing those heavy objects
(B) Using the Force to help him defend/parry
those Overwhelming blows from Vaapad.
Just like Anakin over-powered him.
Mace will do the same.
Dooku's shatter point is his pride,his fatigue, and his overconfidence.
And Makashi's weak points.
I failed to mention that through Vaapad he'll use the count's Darkness against him.
either feeding on it or letting it pass through him, either way it goes Mace
will use that power,energy ,either one against Dooku.

That claim belongs to Mace... with no aids... I know he had the wanna be's with him to arrest Palpatine...trust me they were not there to help Mace,they were there to witness the arrest and probably keep him from using the full power of Vaapad.
Every Jedi,knight,master or padawan dreamed of fighting side by side with Master Yoda against a Sith Lord except(maybe) Anakin..,
It was very poor judgement if those Jedi Masters chosen to Arrest Palpatine were even dare I say close to Yoda in skill with a light saber.
Mace was enough imo. but making a strong case of saying he was indeed a sith lord,you will need witnesses. And for the record Palpatine
was in fact too dangers to be left alive or taken in alive.

Anakin was too close to Palpatine and he let him corrupt and confuse his mind. I agree with the council's decision of not promoting him to master.
he wasn't ready for the title or the responsabilities.
And for the record I don't care about Anakin's pov,of Palpatine,
Palpatine is a Sith Lord,armed or not...he is dangerous and not to be
taken lightly as weak.. or unarmed..remember the Code there is no ignorance there is knowlege.
