John McClane vs Hermione Granger

Immobilus. If McClane isn't fast enough to beat an unarmed woman he isn't beating an armed woman.

Comes down to a quick-draw due to thread stipulations. Gun is faster than the wand.

McClane is pretty efficient with gun accuracy as well.
He has pulled of almost Bullseye feats with guns that shouldn't have reached their mark.

Just watched DH3 again recently because the missus had never seen it before, (I know) and the end scene with McClane shooting the wire to take down the helicopter was insane.

Ten paces then quick turn around = Hermoines guts pouring out before she can will the wand to do anything at 180 degrees.

Are there any spells Hermonie could say while walking the ten paces that would keep her safe?

What about before she turned around?

Wanted to say Granger wins but it is a quick draw. Hermione has to pull the wand, aim, decide the spell, flick her wrist according to the spell, and speak the spell before it fires. McClane has to pull gun, aim, and squeeze the trigger. Seems pretty one-sided to me.

Even if she got her spell off at the same time(unlikely) it probably wouldn't be a killing curse so even if it hit John he'd be hurt/stunned but she'd still be dead.

Apparation is her only hope to avoid a bullet in the teeth. If she does that McClane gets bent over unlovingly

Nope. OP made it clear that they MUST walk ten paces each, turn and then the fights starts. No prepping beforehand from either. It's essentially a quick-draw match.

This setting heavily favors the guy with the gun.

MVF ruling was that apparation counts as leaving the battlefield and concession of defeat/DQ.

She would still be walking ten paces and turning around 😛

I'm just asking if there are any spells she could use while turning, or right after the ten paces, that could help her avoid the gunfire without having to look at McClane?

Okay.

Like I said, if Hermione tries to quickdraw with McClane, she dies. If she ducks instead, runs away and somehow manages to take shelter without being blown apart, then she has a whole load of things she can do to beat McClane.

If she ducks, McClane aims down a bit. /End thread.
