Now, this is what I've been trying to say about what they SHOULD be doing. This sounds very interesting.

But look, they’re obviously beginning something, and there’s a stretch of these flick. And so this is the beginning of the Justice League, as we all suspected as they were announcing that cast. So Kevin Smith is basically saying that their universe (justice league movies) will be similar to what marvel is doing with Thanos but instead using most likely Darkseid. Got it.

Well thing is X-Men doesn't need to explain how someone's got their powers, since it's already been explained that every super powered being is a mutant. But Aquaman who isn't an alien will need to be sufficiently explained. He can't just show up saying "Hey I'm the King of Atlantis" can he?

You really think that in a world full of superheroes, everyone needs a full explanation of where their powers came from?

Plus, he still has that general audience penetration that I spoke about. Anyone who knows Aquaman at all, knows that he can communicate with sea-life and that he spends a lot of time in the ocean. Is that really not enough for people?

Did the X-Men have solo films before the team films came out?

lol you do know that not every person living on planet earth actually reads comic books.. the general audience will decide whether or not Aquaman will be a success.. Comic book movies just aren't for you and I.. Every studio knows the general audience helps turn their film into a major success or a box office flop. Look at Mark Ruffalo and how he was accepted as Hulk and now we could get a Planet Hulk/WWH film eventually

No it isn't bullshit, its the truth.. if WB wants people to believe in them.. If they want people to trust in them then they better damn well start casting these so called films that are development because who gives a rats arse if a film is in development.. that means nothing as movies are constantly in development yet never made or they'll sit on some studios self until the studio feels the time is right.. Once again Marvel took the time to tell the fans and general audience about Tony Stark and about The Hulk and then guess what , we all cared because we all flocked to see those films. Until WB/DC makes me care about other characters not named Batman and Superman then this is just the doctor ordered..

Ruffalo is an example that supports me, imo. How many people came out of Avengers never having been really aware of Hulk except on a very superficial level? Tons. Literal tons.

People have accepted far less before and been fine with it. If he does cool shit, people will want to see him do more cool shit.

The structure of this massive story will probably have a solo movie in their somewhere. It's all connected and I think that will work best for their vision.

Oh, sorry, just saw this. Yeah, THIS is what I have been trying to tell everyone from the start. Have one gigantic story like LOTR and not just shove everyone in ONE movie. They can have cameos and that's fine, but develop all the characters and space them out. That will work. Basically, think Harry Potter.

All I was saying is that, you don't have to explain every single thing.

Did you read the Justice League arc where Aquaman was introduced? I thought that did a fine job of showing him without having to explain every little thing. Solo movies is where you learn more, and it's not like Atlantis is that central to his origin. Aquaman did grow up on land after all, as per the reboot.
