WB to announce Superman/Batman & JLA movies

I hope we get a teaser soon!

A teaser trailer for Batman v Superman should be coming sometime in the next seven to eight weeks — I was told it will run in front of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, but technically that doesn’t preclude it from also being released earlier somewhere else, and I wouldn’t be that shocked to see a surprise reveal in front of Interstellar when that film opens in two weeks. So, we’re down to less than ten weeks left in 2014. I don’t know that we’ll get an official announcement for the director of Wonder Woman in weeks before the new year starts, since obviously we’re still years away from any of these films releasing.

WB is also looking for a female director.

And on that list? Kathryn Bigelow. Damn, I hope that happens, but I doubt it.

I guess the Nolans won't have a hand in the upcoming slate of DC movies. Maybe one day.

It'll be interesting to see the next movies, just to see what it's like without that involvement.

With the exception of Point Break, I've never really enjoyed Katherine Bigelow's movies at all. She's definitely not the right fit for Wonder Woman. Just because she's a woman herself doesn't make it so.

Patty Jenkins or even someone like Julie Taymor would be awesome fits for WW though. If Joss Whedon wasn't owned by Marvel, he would be beyond perfect for Wonder Woman.

Most definitely. Nolan just wants to do his own stuff.

Well, I doubt it will happen, anyway. On AMC Movie Talk, they mentioned the female director who did Breaking Bad and Game Of Thrones. She sounds like she could do it.

You didn't like Zero Dark Thirty? You have to admit, she is one hell of a director.

Not really... it felt like an especially boring documentary.

She's a good director, but overrated imo. Definitely not the right director for Wonder Woman.

But WW will have her own direction/script/plot. She's just the director. And would probably do her justice. Look at the Russo Bros. Cap had his direction set and the Russo Bros delivered despite them having a spotty record before.

"Just the director". That's hardly ever true in Hollywood.

Not sure I understand why the director needs to be female.

I don't think they said it had to be female, they're looking to diversify the talent.

They should get the right people for the job, regardless of colour/gender. Diversity for diversity's sake isn't always a good idea, imo.

If a particular woman is the best fit for a job, then fair balls.

I agree with that. Which is why Tom pointed out the director of Game of Thrones could be a good candidate. She already has the geek factor and respect for the genre and she happens to be a woman. I'd go for her.

Yes, but why are they looking for a "female" director? That makes no sense. You've basically just restricted the list of directors you can choose by like 80%. Are they just trying to prove they're more diverse with their movies or something?

If only they could get Joss Whedon (a male) back for the project. That would be an Awesome movie and guaranteed Box office beast..
