That's not true at all.

I don't know. People are generally not liking this as much as TA 1. Shows in the reviews and ratings. if someone just likes it just OK, they won't repeat. For the Avengers 1? It made a lot more domestically, but maybe that was just an outlier. People were expecting AOU to smash BO records, but it got much lower reviews than number 1.

Was it really?

And yet you are saying another film that is rated higher and it is pretty much a better film in every way is underwhelming?

😂

Yes.

One of the highest grossing movies of all time Avatar earned a ton of money despite poor reviews.

Also the quality of movies following a release matter with Mad Max and other movies right around the road.

Also some of the most critically acclaimed and liked movies have earned far less than other movies like IM3.

So no your scenario is far to simple to be truthful on the matter.

I wasn't making it out to be all true, which is why I had a wink at the end, but the fact remains, overall, the GA isn't liking this as much as #1.

By the GA, MOS was well liked overall. It's rated closely to most Marvel movies and better than some. RT is just one aspect.

Avatar has an 83% metascore and RT rating. In what world is that "poor reviews"?

Bizarro world.

It's also rated a 7.9 on IMDB, which is pretty damn good. I'm not even a big fan of it, TBH, but Avatar got solid reviews.

Okay perhaps my memory of what it was reviewed was different. Still you could exchange Avatar for IM3 if you want.

On Rotten Tomatoes it is behind every MCU movie I looked up. Only ones I think I missed were The Incredible Hulk and the only one it was 'close' to was Thor 2 which had 65%

Only on IMDB are they close. Which if you are using IMDB as a source of truth then AoU is 8.1 compared to Avengers 8.2 so really close.

GA? Nah, it's rated higher than IM 2, rated same with Thor 1, Captain America: First Avenger, and Hulk.

Looked up Thor: TDW and it's close, only 2 off.

Man of Steel also did impressively on AMC's March Madness. Made it to the finals, beating TDKR and Spider-Man. Which I was shocked, BTW. Only TDK defeated it.

So, yeah, people liked it. 🙂

Was Dark Knight Rises released in 3D?

I don't think so. IMAX was the inflated ticket price, if you want to count that.

Yeah, I guess it wasn't. TDKR set BO record for biggest OW 2-D movie.
