Big Temp.. You mean to say.. there is some circumstancial evidence that might point to Sidious throwing the fight.. however, the majority of evidence points to hiim not throwing the fight. Last I checked.. 80 is greater than 20 big bud.

It depends on how rigorously we examine it. For me, the damning remark isn't George's use of the word "overpower" but his line that Sidious "tried to kill" Mace with the lightning.
On the other hand, I've read plenty of persuasive if not conclusive arguments about how that should be interpreted.

@Petrus, no, say more. I'd like to hear what you have to say. I don't mind Palpatine losing a fight, but it's kinda hard to ignore all the evidence in the film and other EU material just because Lucas' comment may have been taken out of context. Palpatine, as we all know, is a schemer who manipulates events to get what he wants. Palpatine using Windu as bait to speed up Anakin's downfall, makes the downfall that much more interesting and it adds more depth to Palpatine's characteristic as a puppet master. I don't understand why people want to throw out all the evidence that Lucas placed within his movie. To me, that just takes away from the movie.
