^ They should have explained more about the Alternate Skynet and where he came from in the movie. Would have made people more interested/invested in the plot IMO.

I hate how it ended on such a cliffhanger though..
Yeah it was cancelled too early. And no spin-off series either.
But in some ways it did have a sort of ending, because now there was the Anti-Skynet machines in the future as well, giving the humans a much better chance of survival.

Most likely saving that for the sequel, If this current one does well enough.
I know, but without the sequel it hurts this movie IMO.
They could have at least stated that this Skynet was a different one from a different timeline, but left it at that for now.

I heard they are doing two sequels no matter what because the company is going to lose the rights in like 2018 or something like that.
Interesting.
I guess that's why they figured they could be a vague as possible in this one.

Also totally upset that
Spoiler:
Derek Reese died. Even though he came back at the ending cliff.
^ Yeah never expected that.
This review sums up my feelings on the film almost perfectly:
Summary Points:
1. Best part was the homage to T1 and T2 in the film's first act. That part was good, and would have loved more of it. But it was over too soon.
2. The heavy spoilers in the trailers took away any sense of suspense I should have felt watching the film.
3. The human relationships were poorly executed.
4. Overall this is probably a slight improvement on T3 and T4, but still does not even touch the Original 2 films.

Anyways, by troll logic you're not a Cap fan since you thought 1 was terrible and 2 was overrated. You're not an IM fan since you claimed IM3 is terrible and IM2 isn't very good. You're not a true Thor fan since you always rail against him in the versus thread. That's three of four Avengers you're not a true fan of, which means you're not a true Avengers fan. Since Avengers is marvel's signature property, that ultimately means you're not a true marvel fan.
Cos it wasn't very good at all, the first quarter (or so) of the film was decent for an action flick, but when they
Spoiler:is takes a nosedive and never recovers.
time-travel to 2017
Also seeing old slouched Arnold was kind of sad after the nostalgia of seeing him Terminator it up again wears off. Really wish they had listened and gone with a complete reboot.

Kinda wish the fight lasted longer between the 2 Arnold's
Yeah expected that to last longer especially when it was marketed so much.
Would have been Great if that wasn't shown in the trailers and they just surprised us with that though.

Dont know what to think about the whole T 3000 thing and thatSpoiler:
Arnie becoming a t 1000
T-3000:
Spoiler:
hated it with a passion. Not the Terminator itself, but the John Connor take on it. And I still found it to be no where near as intimidating as the T-1000, despite how much more invincible it was.
Arny:
Spoiler:
Being Upgraded to a T-1000 I actually thought was a good idea. Because it's getting silly that the Bad Terminator's keep getting more and more Powerful, yet it's always an Arny T-800/101, taking it on without upgrades. Especially when this Arny couldn't even take a new T-800. It's about time we got a Good T-1000 Imo. But of course the Good Terminator always "has to be" Arny facepalm
Yet internationally, Genisys is proving to be a worthy opponent, grossing an early foreign total of $85.5, global sum of $129.6 million and dethroning Jurassic World in the process. It has yet to open in major markets such as China, Japan, Spain, Italy, etc.
This according to an ign article which gives me hope this will definitely make a profit. How much of one remains to be seen but globally this could save the future of the franchise. I will remain optimistic.

WW it has to make more than the previous 2 because the International market is much larger now.
In any case the franchise rights are going back to Cameron in 2019. So in the meantime they will carry on milking the franchise, regardless of how well this movie does (providing it doesn't lose them too much money of course).
Hopefully future installments will make will have better plots.
Originally posted by Darth ThorI hope the next film is better as well but this was my fave of the franchise. That being said I think Linda Hamilton was a far better Sarah Connor.
