Dwarves had to run around and use tricks to take on Smaug and in the end couldn't even hurt him significantly. Gandalf just beat the Balrog's ass on the fly.
Dwarves trolled Smaug for a quarter of the movie and also ran from Orks for two straight movies. That just means that orks are the deadliest creatures in the movies.
Smaug getting slapped around by Dwarves like he's Tom in a Tom and Jerry cartoon is the worst though. He'd definitely lose to the guy who manfought Gandalf for three days and killed him.

Smaug was burned by gold and it didn't even really faze him. Smaug is beyond the dwarves obviously despite their plot device tricks. Smaug decimates the creature Gandalf crushed.

Orks crush Dwarves in massive numbers. Moria was cleanesed of Dwarves by Goblins who are bitchnigga orks. Dwarves suck, making their trolling of Smaug that much more embarrassing. Balrog stomps here.
Goblins are not orcs.
They used plot device weapons and failed to defeat Smaug. Gandalf tanked his attacks like a champ for days whereas he couldn't tank Saruman's for ten minutes.

All that was required to crush the Balrog was one geriatic.
Balrog didn't beat one single person. Smaug has all the advantages and the feats.
