Eru's creations seem to be more impressive overall, and they have the creative power of the OT God though. It is a good analogy though.
I wish I could take credit for an amazing discovery but it is hardly something I stumbled upon.
In Tolkien's own words:
"The Lord of the Rings is of course a fundamentally religious and Catholic work; unconsciously so at first, but consciously in the revision."
-Letter 142
And then here's a more in-depth comparison* between the two:

But, only in more fringe Christian beliefs will you see "creative angels." For instance, in Mormon Mythology, Adam is also Michael the Archangel. Adam, with Christ (Jehovah), created the universe under God's (Elohim) direction. There are other Archangels, but not those that are equal to Michael is the Chief Archangel, such as Gabriel (Noah) in Mormonism.
*It should be noted that, from a literary perspective, I have used "comparison" correctly, here.

I'm a genius of epic proportions and I know the sun formed naturally. 🙂
Your mistake is thinking God is mutually exclusive to the "set of all things natural." When, in reality, God is the set of all things natural and then an infinite amount of other things, too.
