What he is saying, basically is that you are asking him to prove a point that is similar to that.
Admittedly, McClane's survivability is more vague than that, and it is a discussion we have had many times in 2 years, witness Lestov's wars with Rob and Sadako.
Basically put, John has, what I'd like to call, "the luck of the Irish." He constantly finds himself in incredibly shitty situations, where the odds are stacked so heavily against him, that it seems almost impossible to survive, nevermind pull a win. But in each case, he has walked away without permanent injury, and with a win under his belt.
I said it once before, John's luck is a double edged sword. It's his other factors that actually net him more wins than losses. People tend to look at the fight with the Ninja Chick as some sort of negative point, and I raised this with Quan once, before he turned it into a mysogynist and sexist ferris wheel. but Ninja Chick was highly skilled and heavily trained - military trained too. She had more actual combat skill than John did. The fact that John pulled a win on her is a positive, despite what the sexual detractors like Quan will bark at you.
