Don't forget the big difference was that Hamill, Fisher & Ford had real sets & props around them to set the mood & get the feel of the universe they were supposed to be in.

That's true. Never thought of it like that, because I never had an issue with CGI being used over Practical effects. But yeah I suppose it makes a big difference to the actors.

Star Wars is pretty symbolic in a simple way. It's a heros quest. You need to see it with a children's mentality, unlike some fictions that force themselves to be gritty. Much like DC actually.

Which is why Quan likes both of them in such a fanboyish way.

(MoS was still a disappointment though)

I find it humorous when people try to sum me up and do it badly.

According to Empire:" Kylo Ren is the best villain in franchise history."

Holy shit!

😂

And you all called me crazy for saying he'd be better than Vader.

I am a prophet.

Firstly Hayden's not a bad actor. He was just given terrible material in AOTC which was his debut. And a few equally bad lines in ROTS.

Secondly don't make up your mind already based on "reviews."

I told you this prior to the film because I have faith in Abrams as a filmmaker. I told you this would happen. You like everyone else I've seen never went even close to my faith in this new film. When I'm right I expect you to apologize to me.

That was the biggest complaint the actors had. They found it difficult to embrace their roles with nothing but a blue screen floor & background.

I remember Bob Hoskins saying he nearly had a nervous breakdown & hated acting in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? simply because he found it so emotionally draining having to act & pretend everything around him was real.

Or poor Ian McKellan during the Hobbit.

Yep. Nothing shows quite as well as why real sets are better than CGI than that.

We'll see...

But the film is currently sitting at 100% on RT with over 50 reviews in!

The Dark Knight did that initially on both RT and IMB; loads of people claiming it was the best film in cinematic history and Ledger's Joker the greatest villain portrayal; then the initial shock/awe wore off and it settled, still highly rated though.

It hardly "settled". The film is still #4 of all time on IMDB (something I strongly disagree with).

Hopefully, TFA stays above 90% and it seem that it will.

Yeah, 'still highly rated'. #4 though, lol.

That will be interesting to see. Star Wars 1977 is in the 90's, or there about.

TDK is a great film.

It is indeed, but it doesn't belong above films such as Goodfellas, Schindler's List, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Silence of the Lambs, Pulp Fiction and so on.

Of note, it's not even in the top 100 in the AFI.

Because that was released long before The Dark Knight. Heck, the updated one was released before TDK as well.

That film was overrated as well as fanboys clinging to that Joker. Weakest of the batman trilogy by far.

Yeah, my bad, thought it was more current.

You're trying way too hard again, quano. It's making you look epically desperate(ie more than usual), just an fyi.

Just laughed at him making you apologize and correcting you. Nice job, ares.

See above, still trying way too hard. Looking desperate, quano.
