Fanboys are pointing out the similarities between Snoke's facial injuries being similar to the damaged Vader helmet.

facepalm

So, you guys think Snoke is really that huge or a hologram transmission is to blame for it?

Most likely a Hologram transmission.

Like Palpatine in Episode V, yeah, I guess so.

Still, when Serkis commented on Snoke's appearance, he might have meant his actual appearance, not just a holo. Just saying.

Probabky not that big. At first I thought he might be that big but when I remember the hologram from the ot's he was very big so I feel they might be going for that. In the prequels they used regular sized holograms but this is ot or bust.

Apparently Serkis confirmed Snoke's not Plagueis:

And Abrams confirmed it wasn't Khan. We won't know for certain until episode 8. Sometimes these guys lie.

*heavy sigh of relief*

That's true, they can say all they want. I still don't think that Snoke is Plagueis, but we can't know for sure until the movie.

Abrams confirmed it. Kasdan confirmed it. Pablo confirmed it. And now Serkis confirmed it.

Yet people still claim he is Plagueis...

I for one have never believed that Snoke was Plagueis

There's no way he's Plagueis. What kind of dumb reveal would that be

Well, considering that he's an establish threat with powers that eclipsed even Palpatine's and who sought immortality through reincarnation it makes a lot of sense.

Building a new villain from scratch and expecting it to have the same impact as a threat that has been lingering with the audience for a decade is not going to work.

Well it's officially the biggest movie of all time

Spoiler:
domestically

Was anyone interested in Plagueis though? Other than like, completionist obsessives?

^ No. He was mentioned in ROTS in an interesting conversation. But he was more of a big deal to the old EU fans.

Why wouldn't there be? He was clearly far more knowledgeable and experienced than Palpatine was in the ways of the Force; and he could resurrect the dead.

There are so many questions that can be drawn from that. "How did he get so powerful?" "Why did he decide to train Palpatine?" "Were there any repercussions to being resurrected?" "How come the dark side is associated with life?"

Bringing him back as Snoke would not only justify his power and tie the movies together, it could also be explained in context of 'the prophecy of the one who will bring balance to the Force' since there might well have been a point when there technically were no Siths. While having Snoke as just another Sith Lord who rose to power in Palpatine's absence doesn't make sense and isn't nearly as interesting.

Well, just from the movies we don't even know if Plagueis was real or that Palpy invented him to seduce Anakin.

And it's clear that the film makers of the ST are avoiding any dodginess from the PT. So don't expect too many neat connections.

The scene where Palpatine talks about Plagueis is, bar none, the single best scene in the Prequel Trilogy.
