Let me get this straight.. Their hand speed is exponentially faster than a human WITH a saber.. but without one... they are as slow as a human. Do you see how idiotic that looks? How would they be slower having no weight resistance but faster with weight added? That makes zero logical sense. If anything they would be faster not having to react to something and with less weight added. Why would they be able to handle faster than super sonic blaster fire but all of a sudden slow down because they are throwing a punch? If they are THAT fast then they are THAT fast.

Does punching somebody require arm movement?

If they both require arm movement... how can you move your arm above super human speed to block blaster fire but somebody can't punch somebody faster than human speed... Does that make sense to you?

Your example is good awful, much like your logic. We're not talking about baseball or Bruce Lee. Neither of which can react to super sonic blaster fire. That is EXPONENTIALLY faster than swinging a baseball or a punch. That's the point. Just because has crazy reaction speed or agility doesn't mean they win the fight. You could have somebody that could move their arms to respond to a 500 mile an hour fastball, something Bruce Lee couldn't dream of reacting to, that doesn't mean Bruce Lee or any MMA couldn't turn him into a pretzel and submit him or even beat him.

Same reason a baseball player can hit a hundred mile an hour fastball greater than Bruce Lee but can't fight anywhere near with the same quickness as Bruce Lee.

Jedi masters are fast in a close battle against someone with a saber. They aren't faster than lasers. Hell, Obi can't even avoid a headbutt.
