Y'all quit wrecking my thread with petty bullshit.

How about we all talk about how great this movie is and how stupid Golem is?

Beating a dead horse...

But sure, let's do that 🙂

So 181 million opening weekend? Not what I expected but as long as it beat BvS it's all that matters.

Someone on BO forums was claiming it would do 225, because of spider-man. I was thinking 200 at best.

Do you bleed?

Oh, f*ck. You do.

I actually thought it would also because of Iron Man.

That claiming $225 million was BKB who is the Quanchi of the boxoffice forums.

^ It's always hard to predict these things. If the title was "Avengers:Civil War", and if Spider-Man was marketed more then it would have sailed past 200mill IMO.

But at least it beat IM3 and is only behind superheromovies named Avengers.

Lol, yeah, you know him. He was right about the first Avengers though.

But most people knew Avengers was going to be in it.

After seeing this, part of me wishes we were getting the Black Panther solo film this year instead of Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange looks really good.

Agreed.

I don't disagree, but I just now hate that we have to wait two years for the Black Panther movie.

I knew it would do at least $175 opening weekend...

Alot of people knew Spider-Man was going to be in as well.

Still a lot of marketing's in the name. Captain America as a name doesn't have the same goodwill as the names Iron Man or Avengers IMO. Could have simply called it "Marvel's Civil War"..

Because let's be honest it's a Marvel event film more than it is a pure Cap film.

He was hugely undersold IMO. Not even on any of the posters. Well I've not seen him anywhere at least.

But I think WOM on him will help in the coming weeks.

If they marketed Spider-Man too heavily it would've been blatant misadvertising, considering he's in it for less than 20 minutes in a 2 hour 30 minute movie. That might've even lowered public perception of the movie.

Spider-Man's role wasn't that small tbh. He got as big a role as Ant-Man tbh, whose been marketed way more. He even gets a spot in the poster.

But yeah I think people will be surprised by how much Spider-Man was in it, and be raving about how good he was which will help word of mouth.
