I was happy with the amount of god damn sheer respect Cap got in this movie.

No one bested him.

His fight with Iron Man was quite PIS-y, I will admit, but I was happy as **** regardless.

Team Cap all day, everyday.

Yeah but calling it PIS will cause shitstorms in most palces

People weren't using spoiler tags like 1-2 days after release so why the hell should we now? I gave up using spoilers because apparently the mods don't give a shit.

after 15 or 17 days $940 million worldwide...

by next sunday $ 1 billion worldwide + is clearly quaranteed.

^ Nice. It's flown past BvS in like 1 week of domestic release and 2 weeks worldwide. I'm still hoping it can catch up to Age Of Ultron.

Yah, this movie is a lock to make $1 billion now.. Now it's a question if it can beat IM3 and even AoU or not. It certainly deserves to be the second highest grossing movie for the MCU (or maybe first but I don't see it passing Avengers 1)

So far it's on track to beat IM3 (domestic, not sure about International). So hopefully should do that at least. Catching AOU's worldwide figures doesn't seem likely though.

I think matching A1's massive domestic (and maybe worldwide too) figure will only get harder to hit going forward. Too many superhero films for "everyone" to watch, plus you need to catch up on all the prior Marvel films to fully appreciate the event films like this one.

One thing that's kinda annoying me is how people label this movie Avengers 2.5. I don't understand this. Ever since The Avengers came out just about all the MCU films have people wondering why the other heroes weren't around. When Iron Man 3 came out, people were like "Where's Captain America?" Same for Winter Solider. People were wondering how come Iron Man wasn't around. Same for Thor 2. "Why don't the other Avengers show up and help?" was a common complaint. And now they finally make a single-hero MCU story that features the other Avengers and now people are like "This is Avengers 2.5! Not a Captain America movie!" Makes me glad that Thor and Hulk weren't around. It would only give them more reasons to label it as such.

And even with all the other characters, it was still a Cap focused movie. It just happened to have the Avengers as co-stars. It had more emphasis on him than anyone else. It focused on his relationship with Bucky, Peggy and him disagreeing with the Accords act which helped set the plot. He had the most screentime. And even when he is not on screen, the majority of the time the characters are talking about him.

Maybe because the movie's plot revolves around an increasing rift in the team ultimately causing them to split?

The status-quo for the avengers definitely changed, and as minor as that change may seem, it's there and that was this movie's goal. So yeah, this movie had a bigger impact in the team as a whole than in Steve's character.

I think it is Avengers 2.5 and I don't think that's a bad thing in the slightest.

It was still a Steve and Bucky story at the end of the day though. The entire movie revolved around them both.

Yep.

This movie was a Captain America movie but it was also kinda like Avengers 2.5

That's the great thing about this movie; it's all of the above. 👆

I don't understand why this is even being discussed.

First half focused mainly on Cap and Bucky. But the 2nd half focused on IM just as much and was a pretty full on Marvel Event movie. Even ended with "Spider-Man will Return".

Who cares if it's titled Captain America or avengers, it's a great ensemble movie and respects both Steve and Tony. Let's stop complaining about things that don't matter

It's the best version of Iron Man since Iron man 1 imo. I loved Tony's mannerisms throughout the movie and RDJ's acting was incredible. I want more RDJ movies OTHER than the Marvel ones.

Some people want to say Cap doesn't have the best superhero trilogy by arguing that this movie wasn't 'his'.

That's basically it.

Yeah for instance Nolan fanatics will argue that TDK was the best superhero trilogy. BB was good, TDK was the best(and one of my favorite movies ever), however TDKR while I liked it, it didn't hold a candle to the previous ones and was the weakest of the trilogy.

Cap is pretty much the only superhero trilogy that started off with a good movie with both of it's sequels being superior.

Yeah let's pretend the Team-Cap side have no agenda of their own. I.e. The Opposite of what you said.
