In all honesty, I doubt there'll be an Iron Man after RDJ leaves. At least not for a while.

Will likely be a long length time, they're going to want to continue making money where they can before rebooting their cash-cow.

I see no reason why GoTG won't get a third film unless the second sucks and I can't see that happening, new Spider-man will likely get two if not three solo films, Ant-Man will probably be a three-part, Doctor Strange will likely be two-three films. Then there's the less known characters they can potentially tap into. Hoping Disney is able to do a joint venture for a solo Hulk film after the IF films.

Do wonder about Captain America, Evans is young enough where he could continue for some time, that's if he doesn't die in CW as expected.

^ Marvel won't get box office from the Spider-Man films, but they will get the movie merchandise.

Are you sure it's zero? Still, SM merchandising accounts for high-end millions, if not skirting on the billion

edit: It's actually over the billion mark, or was in 2014

Yeah the deal is Sony keeps everything from the solo movies and Marvel keeps everything from the other Marvel movies that feature Spider-Man. Makes sense because it never would have worked if they tried to agree on percentages of each other's profits.

Yeah Spider-Man movie merchandise is massive, so TASM2 failing (relatively speaking) would have effected Marvel's profits as well (or at least worry them), that's why they probably wanted to get involved and either buy Spider-Man back off them, or do a joint venture deal to put the property back on track.

No ones getting X-Men movie merchandise which is why Marvel couldn't care less about the Fox properties.

Not to get off track, ASM2 only made around 50mil less than ASM. Though I think this is one of the times the studio listened to public opinion that this SM franchise wasn't very good and course corrected instead of just pushing forward and hoping the formula would work better in their 3rd try. Warner needs to do this with the DCEU, imo.

^ 50million is a lot though especially given TASM2 apparently spent more on its budget (still undisclosed) and marketing. Plus was the least well received of all the Spider-Man movies.

And generally studios get worried when the box office for their biggest franchise is on a downward slope.

Technically Warner Bros won't walk away with that message given BvS has massively outgrossed MOS. Although they should probably ask why this movie has grossed massively less than their last Batman movie. But given its a reboot they might just put it down to that.

Yah, Snyder has had 2 tries to make a generally well received DC film and has failed both times. I was alright with MoS but not BvS. He needs to go. Whedon was good, but you could tell he lost a bit of the magic with AoU. I still really liked AoU but it wasn't as good as the first. Snyder shouldn't get more chances than Whedon imo.

Reactions to the screenings tonight are out.

Disney has massive faith in this film.

Well the Russos directed this. I have faith as well. You put faith in Snyder as did Darth Thor and Robtard. Misplaced.

Marvel can't make a bad film.

True, it wasn't all that good. But I wouldn't call it unwatcable.

Here comes the marvel hater Darth Thor and his pettiness.

Yes. Much worse. Ultron wasn't awful, it was just disappointing.
