Well it was the studios film. It's like saying they forced him to have Dr. Octopus in Spider-Man 2.In any case There's no excuse for the garbage Venom plot with the Emo dancing Parker in S3. If he simply knew he couldn't make a good Venom movie because he lacked the passion for it then he should have stepped down as Director.
They also had have Peter getting the black suit, discover it's evil and get rid of it. As well as introduce Eddie Brock and develop his hatred for Spider-man. There also needed to be a villain for Peter to fight while wearing the black suit. And even though Harry had been set up, we had just gotten a film with his father being the sole villain. So if the majority of the action sequences were with Harry as the GG, it would have been kinda redundant.
The whole thing really shouldn't have been crammed into one movie. You can't just shoe in on of the "Big 3" Spider-man villains like that, Goblin(Norman Osborn), Doc Ock and Venom all should have had a whole film to themselves as the villain, not having to share it with anyone else. Sony either should have waited until Raimi was done with the Goblin storyline and then tried to work something out with him about doing the symbiote story for the next trilogy. Or hell even just had Spider-man 3 end with Brock getting the symbiote. This would give Venom more to do and he could be used to his full potential rather than just having only about ten minutes of screentime at the end where Spidey beats him. Venom really doesn't work when he just pops up he has appear as like the coming of a storm.

I doubt it without Thor and Hulk. Also think it would have had a better chance of it had "Avengers" in the title. But ultimately that might not mean too much.
Infinity War perhaps has the best shot, assuming that also has Spider-Man.

No guarantee of that either, considering Tony keeps the best suit for himself, and is always upgrading. Plus he'll be better at using the suits functions, and know it's weaknesses.
That said, would be cool to see Cap in the armor. But fat chance of Tony giving him one after Civil War.

CW will open higher, but MCU is on it's 3rd phase, right? DCEU is just starting out and it already has made more than MCU first and most of it's second phase.
