SS doesn't have the characters to pull great numbers, and DC doesn't have the goodwill

as for the opening weekend for Suicide Squad, well since Hack Snyder still had a lot of say, I'd would think that Suicide Squad might open up to $55-75 million.. after all Will Smith isn't the box office draw he once was, Margot Robbie, although hot, can't really carry a film.. people might walk out the theater after counting up Batfleck's ten minutes of film..

What about them? They aren't a big part of the movie based on everything we've seen.
A comic movie needs characters people know and care about.

DP proved you don't have to have the characters to be a big hit. At least in the COMIC genre.
Originally posted by MindsetSS isn't Deadpool, there's really no point in bringing it up.

More people know Deadpool than Deadshot or the rest of these C-listers. Will Smith stopped being a draw years ago.Yea, I could drop out of college and become a billionaire like Bill Gates, but let's be real, it won't happen. Bringing up the highest grossing R-rated movie in history to show that SS could be huge at the BO really makes no sense. This movie will probably do average comic movie numbers.

I don't know who WILL GO see it. These things are hard to predict. I'm just saying I agree it has that Deadpool POTENTIAL..

Double ouch for Jason Bourne and Star Trek. looks like those won't break even.
If that was DC property the haters would be bashing that.
Makes me think Suicide Squad will have bad legs with the negative reviews.
^ Because the GA clearly haven't responded to Trek: Beyond, no matter how much Critics praise it.
In fact even the audience rating on RT clearly isn't reliable (84% for ST:Beyond) as a measure of how audiences have responded to it.
In terms of Worldwide though Trek:Beyond isn't out in many major markets yet including China, so it probably will still make profit. But it's done terrible domestically.
For those who do take RT scores so seriously.. Really?:
Originally posted by Darth ThorYou said it failed I told you it hadn't been released worldwide and once again you change your stance again. You flip flop all over the place. You admitted you want it to fail showing a hatred for the Kelvin franchise. You also couldn't stand Force Awakens. You seem stuck in the past.

Wow it looks like opinions of this movie really are all over the place.
Probably won't help its legs any but its odd that while MoS was polarizing and BvS is generally agreed upon to be crap, Suicide Squad has generated a bunch of opinions.
Movie is still a hot mess but I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

I was going to do that, but I was too lazy. Anyway, the movie will probably be frontloaded to the extreme, so big drop next weekend. Looks like I was right again! If people were to just listen to me.
Nobody beats me!!

The Comixology sale for the New 52 Harley stuff /film has totally got me hooked on her as a character from her portrayal outside of the DCAU cartoon. Even with as big of a mixed bag as this film was, I think they got her right as a character and Margot's performance for me was true to character in the same vein as Ryan Reynold's Deadpool and Bernthal's Punisher. I have a hard time seeing any actress replacing Margot for the role. They'll most likely be involved in a Batman film at some point, especially since Leto is dead set on returning. As for a more detailed review I had more fun with this than BVS, and the actors had much greater chemistry/the levity is a great contrast to the somberness and poor pace of Dawn of Justice. Amanda Waller, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Leto Joker, are all great additions to the DCEU to me, and even if it tanks due to incompetence to Warner I want to see more Joker, Harley, and Deadshot. The weak points of the film being issues with the pacing/shitty villain, and they subtract some points but I'm not seeing how this is anywhere near as bad as the critics are saying. Other than pacing issues (Joker literally getting to Midway city out of nowhere/shitty expository scenes) and the shitty villain (Enchantress), I had some fun with this film unlike certain points of Dawn of Justice (the beginning political stuff with the senator/post Doomsday fight stuff) only the Villain was cringeworthy for me.
6.5/10 a bit better than Dawn of Justice but inferior to all other Superhero films from this year
Harley was the only likable character that I could root for

yea it seems that all WB wants are transformers type films which is shame.. this looks like it will be the second film from their horrible DCEU that will open big and then fall flat on its ass... if it happens I will be laughing
