Yeah, one of my co workers doesn't even know who Harley is.

SS is going to destroy Doctor Strange

I see Strange making ant man numbers. SS will more than likely make more.

Hence I said 'most of'

Good that you're admitting your marvel films are going to lose at the box office though. Progress.

I never once said all marvel films will beat all dc films. But Batman and the joker are about as mainstream as comic book characters get. I guess that's as lousy as it's gotten for dc fans to beat their chests.

😂

Simply pathetic.

SS could make over $300 million.

Why have a false confidence?.......Got nothing to do with handling the truth

at least i don't need to go out of my way to hype up a movie and be loyal to a company.

I'm not a DC fan nor am I a Marvel fan. I like good movies. I don't care how much they make.

I do recognise that DC movies will make more than Marvel movies next year though.

If previous outings are to go by I'll probably prefer Civil War as a movie than either of the DC movies. Winter Soldier is in my top 5 comicbook movies. Man of Steel...isn't. And none of the Nolan films get anywhere near.

Just like how I stated AOU wouldn't make as much as the first, even though you and several others thought it would. How's that working out for you?

SS is getting much hype without me. ✅

Not only is SS #1 on Moviemeter (BVS is number 1 and Star Wars is # 9), but outpaced BVS in views on the Internet, gathering more than 50 million views.

I wonder how this will translate to BO success.

All those reports suggest BvS won't make Avengers type money:

While the two trailers are doing quite well, neither has come close to matching the numbers Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Age of Ultron pulled in, in their first week of release. The trailer for the first Star Wars movie in over ten years garnered 58.2 million in its first seven days, while Marvel's The Avengers sequel earned a healthy 50.6 million views when it's trailer hit last year. The DCU is fairly new, so it might not be until the Justice League Part 1 trailer that Warner Bros. and DC see those kinds of view numbers. Which trailer did you like the best? Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Or Suicide Squad? Let us know your thoughts, and why one might have won you over more than the other! You can watch both trailers here, again, if you missed them.

So I'd personally still put my money on Civil War winning 2016. I think the Spider-Man introduction will tip the odds.

People are placing way too much significance on youtube views. All this suggests is that both movies are known to many people.

I'm with Ares on this one

It's like one website puts an article that's like "Suicide Squad got a lot of views!"

and so every other movie news/geek website feels like they also need to report that? Who cares. I've never seen reports like that as a new item unless some sort of record broken.

Tbf most people I know still have no clue what Suicide Squad is.

Will see when SW7 is out how much youtube views count for.

Star Wars isn't the first trailer we've seen on youtube.... We've known how much youtube views have meant for awhile now and they matter for very little.

Who cares what they say? For the past year, the box office has been unpredictable. Did people think Furious 7 was going to beat AOU? Actually you were one of those people who kept on thinking AOU would fly past Furious 7
Did you think Jurassic World would overtake OW record?

Going off history, Batman has the upper hand. He's overtaken the OW 4 times and people are itching to see him again. Saying Civil War will win 2016 is waaay to early. If you're going to go off of what people say, most people think it will come close to AOU numbers.

I'm not saying SS is going to break records or anything, just that I'm surprised how much awareness it had in a short amount of time. Didn't think it would do those numbers. Only a few trailers in history have those many views and MOST of them made big bucks, because of it.

Yeah I thought AOU would stream past Furious 7, but I'm glad it didn't because I want Marvel to know that if they drop in quality they will make less money. They were not given that lesson with IM3, so I'm glad they've been given some kind of indication of that now.

Spider-Man also has a very good history going back to the Ramai days. He's just suffered from poor quality films and people being tired of having his Origin story as of late. But adding him to the MCU (without doing another Origin stroy) could bring that excitement back for the character.

And even with his popularity down due to repeated poor quality and revamping, his last movie still grossed as muach as Winter Soldier worldwide.

It's just an early prediction. I'm not doing a Quanchi or anything: "Make mine Marvel." I'll support which ever movie is better, and really looking forward to both of them.

I agree that is really surprising. Especially since you can hardly even tell Batman is in that trailer, and no one even mentioned the Joker's name (this new Joker isn't exactly instantly recognizable as the character).

You also have to realize that Batman V Superman doesn't have competition for 6 straight weeks, while Civil War has a few big ones opening after, like X-Men Age of Apocalypse.

Batman V Superman has a similar opportunity as Furious 7 to make a crap load of money, because of the release date.

Websites like 9gag ( one website for buzz) had insane buzz with SS and BVS and the last time it was polluted so much was Jurassic World and look how much that made.

Good points. We'll see.

Have to admit I'm more buzzed for BvS after that trailer. But we're still a long way off, and we haven't seen the trailer for Civil War yet.

IMO the Civil War trailer should be as good as the Batman v Superman trailer
